Go ahead. Them profiles might be interesting.
On other notes, these unit's you've postet aren't half bad. The spear of the scouts looks like a magical staff more than spear though.
Oh, and since you posted some pics: I tweaked one of them.
Can you guess which?

Profile: Half-elf scout
Half elf scouts are used by those loyal to Konrad to scout forests. They have the strong build of there human parents but the forest walk that that is a trait of Avengers. There spears have a bulb at the end coated in a poison that slows down even the most agile skirmishers
Elven Spear 3-4 firststrike. melee
Short Spear 2-3 slow ranged
Special: Ambush

It's right here.
There aren't going to be any more factions added to Default, except (IIRC) the Kalifa. However, there is a possibility for other eras to be added to mainline. Not in 1.2, but eventually.Flarin wrote:Jetryl will there be new factions in the next upgrade?

And those era's are most likely EE, and IE. Which would be great.turin wrote:There aren't going to be any more factions added to Default, except (IIRC) the Kalifa. EE = Extended Era, also known as the Worst Era Ever Made.

turin, that post has gaping logical holes in it.turin wrote:EE = Extended Era, also known as the Worst Era Ever Made.
Please make some kind of condescending remark towards yourself to balance the negativity you've displayed towards Noyga's efforts.
EE is awesome.
Mod note: Discussion of the relative goodness/badness of EE should take place elsewhere, and only if the parties can remain civil. This hasn't turned into a flame-war yet, but I'd hate to see this thread in the Art contributions stray way off topic. So, if you want to make critical commentary on era balancing, please start your own thread and be prepared to back up your assertions with evidence. -D. Fool

The Kalifa are probably going the way of the high elves. As it stands, there's no way they're going in with the graphics as they are, and I'm not doing the work to replace those. Also, if they do get added, they'll throw all balance to hell. As much as I might not like it; I think that Noy/Dragonking are right in that Default should be "frozen" with regards to factions.turin wrote:There aren't going to be any more factions added to Default, except (IIRC) the Kalifa. Adding new eras to later versions of wesnoth is a nice idea and all, but what we really need is an ability to have the same units in different eras with different stats. Making units "children" of an era, or more likely, making an era "override" units, but only within it's own scope.
Thing #2, is that we need an ability to make "joining a multiplayer game with an era you don't have" cause you to automatically download that era from the content server (said in simple terms, don't OT about the details). Warcraft already does this, in that it makes all the units and images children of a map/scenario file, and when someone joins a hosted game where they don't have the map, they get sent the map, content and all.
These are features for the semi-distant future.
