Northern Rebirth and SotBE Portriats Needing Color
I have a few uncolored portraits from Northern Rebirth and Son of the Black Eye. Since they are pretty good it would be a shame to see them go to waste. Would anybody be interested in giving them some color?

[ possible stupid question] Did you draw these? [/ possible stupid question]
These are pretty good.
They would be cool colored but the orc might need some clean up first.

I can see zookeepers point, because they may not "Wesnoth-style". They are really good drawn, but as they are, they don't fit in.zookeeper wrote:Am I the only one who thinks these don't look good at all for the purpose? Well, the orc would be fine with a bit more work (and colouring), but the others just look completely out of place.
Do we have full body pictures at all? We can use the upper bodys from Anita, Camerin and the orc.
That is what i think.

Yeah, I didn't do them. The Northern Rebirth ones were done by Xandar86 (whattever happended to him, that guy had tallent), and the orc was done a long time ago by fmunoz. As for the layered versions, I unfortuatly don't have them. If Xander is still around I could ask him but the only thing I got is what I posted.
As far as them being "Wesnoth style" and "fitting in" I don't really care. A couple of things about Northern Rebirth don't fit into wesnoth - the portraits, the music and so on. But as long as they look good, and fit the campaign, I don't really care...

This is the stance that I take with IoA, mainly because I am the main contributer, and I prefer to do things different to the mainline.Taurus wrote:Yeah, I didn't do them. Anyway, I really don't see what is wrong with the portraits, they are line art, good line art at that, and the only difference I can see between them and what I've done making portraits in the wesnoth style is that they are better (better use of line thickness, better shape, uses thinner lines for details where neccesary, etc), if it was shaded differently then sure, it would be different, but they haven't been shaded yet so I can't see a difference.

Unfortunatly, those are the highest resoloutions that I have. I will contact the artists. I am not sure I can get a hold of Xander, but I will give it a try. I know fmunoz had a larger resoloution of the orc, but weither or not he still does I'll have to find out.
Thanks for coloring the Anita portrit vonHalenbach. It's not too bad. If you or someone else can't improve on it I guess it'll do.

Re: Northern Rebirth and SotBE Portriats Needing Color
I remember when these got posted! Heh, I also remember there was the usual bickering about one having a skimpy top.
Anyway, glad to hear that these pics will recieve some colouring love.
Is there something wrong with the current one for Kapou? I always kinda liked it.Taurus wrote:I was thinking of using this for Kapou'e from SotBE
