Question about 'variations' (i.e. WC's & Soullesses)

Post by peet »

I'm wondering some things about 'variations' of WC's and Soullesses.

1. Can I use variation_name=xxx when placing a unit on the map?

2. Is there a way to allow the recruiting of a specific variation of WC/Soulless instead of the default version? Or do I have to do up a custom unit to do that?

1. Go into your wesnoth install directory and check out The Wilderlands
2. You will need to make your own unit.

Yes, but the recruit menu will still show the image of the regular WC/Soulless. Check the RECRUIT_UNIT_VARIATIONS core macro.

1. The answer is yes, but maybe it had been easier to you to try it yourself than post in the forum and wait for answers.
It is ok to correct me if my English is too bad.
