What is the difference between string and allias in terrain?

Post by Enderlook »

Look at the wiki: https://wiki.wesnoth.org/TerrainCodeTableWML. In the table there is a row for string and another one for allias. I know (think) string is used in [filter_location], but what is the usage of allias?

Alias tells you what the game think this terrain is when deciding things like unit movement costs, defense, and being village.
It pronounces Sha'ha, not Zara.
