The gryphon rider need never be human now

Post by scott »

Thanks to Elvish Pillager, there is no impediment anymore to making the gryphon rider's race be dwarf. HTTT has changed to cooperate with the rest of Wesnoth, which has gotten used to dwarves on gryphons.

Here is an art request: I would like to take advantage of the new [animation] capability and have the gryphon rider rear up like a horse. If we get one of those, I'll use it in a cut scene.

The gameplay implication is that you don't get gryphons until the caves, and this can complicate Northern Winter and Mountain Pass somewhat. It should improve Dwarven Doors, but it might make it harder. I'll be looking into whether Elvish Scouts are enough to compensate.

Again, it should not be human or dwarf. It should be gryphon. Nothing about the unit's characteristics is dwarvish or human in nature.

I don't care what you make it. I'm just informing you that there's no reason to keep it as human.
