Sea Hag

Post by joshudson »

Unit was deleted from Wesnoth 1.1
Unit is used by "Out of the Swamps"
There is not an obvous replacement.
Should unit be restored?

That's a good catch, but this was done on purpose. Versions 1.1 and higher are no longer 100% compatible with 1.0 campaigns (and it probably will get worse), which Out of the Swamps is/was.

Whoever is maintaining it can decide to keep it 1.0 compatible, update it to 1.1+ (which means including a copy of the Sea Hag or removing it from the campaign), or attempt to be compatible with both 1.0 and 1.1+. The last option is currently possible, but as things progress it may become impossible.
Hope springs eternal.

out of the swamps is being re-done by db0 because the maker left for some reason, I think that his version will be totally 1.1 compatible, so there shouldn't be a problem.

The unit is still missing in the campaign South Guard, which has become unplayable!

just so it's said: the sea hag is pretty much replaced by the Naga.

You can either tie your "sea hag" unit into naga graphics,
or add the naga graphics from the repository to your campaign,
or use the mainline naga whole.

Unless you have specific reasons to do otherwise, the last it probably best.
Feel free to PM me if you start a new terrain oriented thread. It's easy for me to miss them among all the other art threads.

Are the old images saved anywhere-other than on the PCs of users who have not downloaded the newest version?
First read, then think. Read again, think again. And then post!

I have the old ones (I have both 1.0.2 and 1.1)

however I would suggest bugging aelius (probably right name, but not sure) to fix it.

and BTW aelius, what happend to north wind? I can only use one scenario (although I haven't got the newest 1.1 version)

EDIT: ops, forgot to add them. and aelius please tell me when you update it, then I can delete these from the forums (save space)

EDIT 2:removed the images and file, follow the link in the next post and go to the branches option.

No reason to post old graphics on the forum.
you can download any version of any of the files ever used in Wesnoth (more or less) from the Repository, here.
