Dark sorcerer + Necromancer swap

Post by scott »

For better or for worse, the name of the L2 unit is "Dark Sorcerer" and the L3 non-Lich is "Necromancer." The instances of those units in scenarios and faction definitions and graphics have also been swapped. In case there are any mistakes, please keep an eye out.

A lot of dialog used necromancer and was changed to dark sorcerer. When the text doesn't refer to a specific unit type, please re-evaluate what it says now and change it back if you don't like the use of "dark sorcerer" in place of "necromancer" (I'm thinking mostly of The Dark Hordes here).
Hope springs eternal.

:) Okay.

It's ambiguous whether one carries greater implications of power than the other; Certainly in LotR, the necromancer had a title that carried quite an aegis of power.

I think it's fun to have necromancer be the level-3 title.

IMO, it's a good swap for two reasons:
(1) The L3 unit (now "Necromancer") develops the Plague(WC) ability (ie. Necromancy).
(2) "Dark Sorceror" seems a natural progression of "Dark Adept".
