This is a about my first faction: The Vilkai, some people living in the cold an harsh north of Wesnoth.

There are 8 recruitable and 27 units in total.

- changed Dire Wolf's "fangs" from 6-3 to 7-3
- changed Hunters cost to 18, "bow" attack from 5-4 to 4-4, dagger from 4-2 to 5-2, removed marksman and added ambush
- changed Deerstalkers "dagger" from 5-2 to 7-2, removed "bow"s marksman and added ambush and changed XP from 63 to 80
- changed chieftains "Spear" from 12-2 to 12-3

Next Steps:
1. finishing sprites for all units
2. adding unit descriptions

I'm always happy about every help, bugreports, tipps, tricks and everything else, to make the Vilkai a great faction for "the Battle for Wesnoth" !

Tach! Ich bin auch berliner ;)
Ich hab mir deine Fraktion mal angeguckt aber noch nicht damit gespielt. Vom ersten Eindruck her wirken viele einheiten op. Der alchemist of war oder warlord zum beispiel. Versuch mal ein paar testspiele gegen jemanden mit ner normalen fraktion damit zu spielen.
Ansonsten fehlt deinen meisten endlevel-einheiten ihr amla. Im Moment sieht's so aus als würden sie sich noch mal entwickeln aber wenn sie ihr maximum an ep erreichen passiert nicht. Schau dir einfach an wie das bei den mainline einheiten mit dem {AMLA_DEFAULT} macro gemacht wird.
Ansonsten viel Glück mit deinem Projekt!

Danke für den Hinweis mit der default amla, das sollte jetzt behoben sein!
der Warlord und der Alchemist of War sind aber auch beide Stufe 4 :/ Beim Alchemist of War hab ich mich an dem Großmagier orientiert, daher sollte er eigentlich nicht zu stark sein. Stark, ja, aber auch schwer zu erreichen.

Hab gerade nochmal nachgeschaut, Beim Warlord sollte es eigentlich 14-4 sein, und Der Alchemist of War sollte weit weniger Leben haben. Ich hab beide etwas angepasst.

Mein "Artist" ist mein Bruder, der ein unglaubliches Talent hat.
Er hat mit 4 Jahren schon besser gezeichnet als ich je konnte. Er wird wohl hauptsächlich die Portraits zeichnen. Die Sprites werden wir dann gemeinsam in Angriff nehmen. (Der "Halflin" ist bereits von uns, weitere folgen)

Hi ich komme zwar aus Frankfurt, aber Deutsch spreche ich trotzdem :D .
Ich habe die Fraktion zwar noch nicht ausprobiert, klingt aber gut. Ich weiß nicht, wie du die Sprites vorstellst, aber ein paar Nordmenschen gibt es schon, die du vielleicht verwenden könntest, wenn sie dir gefallen. Einmal die Ukian Fraktion aus der Archaic Era und die Northern Fraktion von hier: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=38669&start=15
Vielleicht findest du ja was, was du gebrauchen könntest. :lol:

Watch out, v0.2.4 is up in Wesnoth 1.12.6!

I (hopefully) improved much in balancing aspects and and changed some units so that the faction feels more like playing a faction istead of playing some strong but random units.
Next step should be the artwork, ill see what i can do in my holidays!

And of course I'm always happy about every kind of feedback!

- removed Unit: Eagle Rider/Eagle Master
- added new Unit: Watch/Guard/Sentinel
- added new Unit: Eagle/Elder Eagle
- Added new advantancement for Orcish Shaman (lvl3 Orcish Sage)
- major balancing changes on lvl 0/1 units

I would consider cutting shaman line in all variations, as is it is the too convenient source of all damage types, when you have plenty of high damage and weapon specials elsewhere (multiple sources of slow, poison, backstab). In fact, you might want to nerf even afterwards. (Just looked at the 1.12.x stats.)

cutting? Do you mean to seperate them like the actual Shaman into L1 Shaman (Heal) and L1 Witcher (DD)?
The Shaman has only impact and fire (Augur) and impact and arcane (Witcher) in combination so I don't see where it is to much?

As in not including them. Looking at the stats, it seems you put all damage types and weapon specials you have not covered in the rest of the faction in the shaman line. At first glance it looks redundant as a second "mage"-ish / "healer"-ish unit line + leaving some weakness (no magical or no arcane) might make them just a little more balanced, undead should be possible to handle with the amount of impact the faction features. In the end you want people, who both like to play them and do not mind to play against them. (They are also the only unit line without art investment on your side.)

Watch out!
v0.8.3 is out on Wesnoth 1.12 and 1.13.
the update contains the newest sprites as well as some little balancing changes.
For details look at the changelog.txt or simply in the original post.

As always, any kind of feedback is welcome. (:

Oh, and another question:
Would you like to see some other UMC Factions in the addon like eg the aragwaith (one of my favourite. ^^) ?
I'm quite busy with my own faction and two campaigns (related to the Vilkai) so I have not the time jet to create more own factions, but maybe you guys would like to have kind of a "User favourites" era, along with the Vilkai of course.
