A side note: My maps are probably not balanced, so they may need playtesting and tweaking.
Edit: Made a new map.

@Temuchin Khan - thank you!

@ Transfermium - Why is all the water shallow? What about some deep waters?
At that rate (which is impressive) you should think about releasing a mappack ;)

EEaW tournament!
Before we will release a new version I just wanted to say that we organize a tournament on wesnoth.com.pl and everybody is invited! We generally speak english.
If you're interested please sign up here: http://www.wesnoth.com.pl/forum/viewthr ... ad_id=1226
Matches will be played from 1 to 21 October.

1. It's because It's a map themed around the Aegean islands. I might make it a bit more dry though...
2. I might make a map-pack some day, once I get the balancing thing going.
Also, the Tornament seems interesting, I may join.
Will have more balanced maps coming soon!
Edit: Made a drier version of Aegean map and a Baltic-themed map.
Edit: I have the following MP maps planned:
Steppe, Balkans, Desert, Mediterranean, Forest, Cities, and Alps.
Newest Edit: Yayeth! New EEaW with my maps!
I also like the way they've been edited.

Re: Eastern Europe at War (EEaW) - 1.8 is now OUT! NAVAL COM

Post by Sagez »

EEaW new versions 1.8 - 1.8.1 - 1.8.2 IS OUT!

Image

This version introduces completely new naval combat. Changelog:

- All ships have ''naval'' ability - their guns won't work on land and their crew will repair them on each turn -> +5 on land and + 2 while on sea. So the ships are just repairing themselves and it's cool and historically accurate.
- A new type of attack - anti-sail attack devastates the sails on the enemy ship thus making it extremely slow for two turn. After two turns the enemy ship will repair it's sails.
- Cossack chaikas also have a new type of attack - boarding! Yes, now it's possible to take over enemy ships (killing their crew) and use them.
- Chaikas also got ''swamp ambush'' ability alongside their new ''hit and run'' ability, making them even quicker and stealthier.
- Tatar boats also got ''swamp ambush'' and they move quicker on land.
- Tatar ferryboats cost no upkeep now, they are self-sufficient.
- New ship for Ottoman Empire - Bomba Gemisi - a dangerous ship fully loaded with explosives!
- New musket attack for fustas that will help in decimating the enemy infantry.
- 3 new maps made by Transfermium (congratulations and check out the credits): Baltic lake (summer and winter variants) and Aegan dry.

We needed to edit those maps and I'm glad you like them that way.
It would be great to see more maps from Transfermium, especially maps about XVII century and Eastern Europe. Maybe Azov? Kudak (Kodak Fortress)? Sich? Wild Fields?

We'd love to read your feedback. It's probably the best naval combat ever created in wesnoth.

Steppes, Forest (No idea of name, will find one in Eastern Europe later), and Balkans are my next maps(Want to focus a little west on the Aus-Pol-Swe-Ottos for now). I may palette change Balkans for a Alps map if you want.

EEaW 1.8.4 critical FIX
- fixed the boarding ability - now chance to hit calculation should work as intended
- prevented chaikas from boarding... cannons (but capturing enemy cannons is something we are going to add in the future)
- changed the way siege cannon's main attack works - now it damages castle/keep walls and after another successful attack it destroys the target's fortificactions completely.

Have a good time playing.

We'll see about this map.
Today is the last day if you want to join the EEaW tournament - we have 9 players at the moment.
Expect the new version today, I'll edit this post.

By the way, new maps are always nice... but we would be even more happy if we could read some new reviews or get general feedback. What do you like? What do you dislike? We don't make EEaW only for ourselves and we need your opinions.

I'd join, but I don't have time now that some other stuff is happening in my other online presences.

EEaW 1.8.5 - 1.8.14 changelog:

- Camel Artillery sound fix
- Anti-sail attack fix
- Polish hussars no longer have hit and run ability
- Bomba Gemisi deals only 40 damage and is very vulnerable to fire
- Russian exile costs 20 and his berserk attack got lowered to 4-4
- Berserk ability can no longer be used against ships
- Batiushka has 30 hp now
- Camel costs 13 gold
- Swedish shooter costs 16 gold
- Cossack spearman costs 18 gold
- Turkish cannon costs 18 gold
- Cossack peasant costs 6 gold
- several other fixes, are you really interested?

But what is important is that we've changed the ability descriptions so all abilities should be easier to understand. And we've also tweaked scout units, so now each faction has at least one unit that can move fast on snow (yeah, even Turks can do that) - because it makes sense. A scout that cannot go through snow? Garbage! Now every scout can truly scout!

As I said, we need your feedback to upgrade EEaW. What do you like? What do you dislike? We don't make EEaW only for ourselves and we need your opinions!
