Why don't we have a Troll Era?

The trolls are an unknown race with a lot of promise... so why don't we have an era for them? Just curios.
"Strength in numbers" is a common phrase.
But doesn't anyone remember?

A faction you mean?

In mainline: Because it's more flavorful lore-wise to have factions of mixed races.
In UMC: Nobody has taken the care to make one yet I guess.

I made one a while back, compiling units from other authors and campaigns. The trouble is, they have only one level 1 unit, which makes playing as them rather boring. Creating units specially for the faction would solve that problem, but I was too lazy to do that. :lol2:

Aside, what would be done with this faction? Would it simply be balanced against mainline and then added to grafted or ageless? Would you attempt to make another era on just the concept that a troll faction is desired?

Both of those seem a little unlikely motivations to me.

I can think of several lvl one and lvl2s, not to mention threes.

Lvl1 Troll Spearman (armed with obsidian spear)
>Lvl2 Stone Guard (More damage and can stun with spear-but)
>Lvl3 Fury (more damage and can slow with spear but)

Lvl1 Troll Stoner (Skilled in throwing)
>Lvl2 Scattershot (Has a lot of strikes but little damage)
>Lvl3 Shotgun (Slightly more damage and a few more strikes)
Or
>Lvl2 Slinger (lots of damage but few strikes)
>Lvl3 Stone Tank (Another strike added and a little damage)

Lvl1 Troll Mage (armed with "stone" magic and has minor healing)
>Lvl2 Stone Hands (Has stronger magic)
>Lvl3 Stone Smith (Stronger magic and looks cool)
Or
>Lvl2 Mud Man (Magic stronger and ability to heal.)
>Lvl3 Creator (Magic stronger and has abnormally high healing ability s)

Lvl1 Troll Welp (basic shock troop)
>Lvl2 Striker (Stronger melee and armed with "Stone Gloves" that enhance attack)
>Lvl3 Stone Wielder (Is covered in stone armor to make a menacing figure with decent attack and defense being essentially a shock trooper.)
Or
>Lvl2 Troll (You know the guy with the club)
>Lvl3 Troll Warrior (also well known)

Lvl1 Troll Scout (Fast and weak)
>Lvl2 Sentry (Faster than Scout and more strength.)
>Lvl3 Strider (Faster Stronger)

But why would a fully grown troll, with the exception of the scout, be a level 1? It seems like only the Whelp would be weak enough.

Yes I quite agree but when I put "Troll" into their names I wasn't saying they were fully grown I was implying their race. All level ones are going to be as large as a welp or around there..

Would a whelp be intelligent enough to hold a spear/throw a rock? I was under the impression that young trolls would be unable to use weapons.

Arn't we also told that trolls are mysterious? what about the few tribes free of the orcish oppression? And besides if they are stupid then how do they ever figure out shaman in the first place?

True. I'm not sure about what I said, anyway, but in my mind, Troll Whelps are like babies.

Regardless, I'm all in favor of creating a Troll faction, and will help any way I can.

Ye same and I can't create code but with a frame I can alter them and suit them to my needs. Lol you can see a sample of my fail art right here even... just look at my ID unit.

I like the idea, but I'm not convinced by a 100% troll faction.
For a faction of one race, we need a varied breed. Trolls are too distinctive. They are heavy, regenerate... I can not imagine running a troll.
So, I look better a faction based on trolls, but with few allies. Especially for the Scout(s).

Proposals for your units, Conrad:

I will remove the troll scout for another race. Trolls do not seem very technical. They seem to use their physical ability, but also a sense of magic. They are certainly more intelligent and talented as we think normally. But no use talent turned to science. I imagine well they cant train wolves or bats, to make scouts, without needing to mount them.

In general, I would remove one or two lvl1 and several lvl3.
lvl1s: a shaman, a welp, and another throwing stones. The latter, in lvl2, will specialize in the use of spear or not.
All lvl2 should not evolve to lvl3.
But I could see a lvl4 (welp line).

For mages, I do not see the point of a healer. Trolls regenerate.
A lvl2 then lvl3 increases magic attack power.
Another takes a different path. For example, changing (or adding) the type of attack. The arcane type, would have a powerful unity against the undead. Or even fire (lvl1 has an impact attack?).
Or something else: hide, resistance to his type of attack, bubble magic protection (better defense). What I find well is leadership for a troll mage, right?

yes but what for scouts?
I dunno maybe some time of cave creature... hmm Possibly a race of insects like fireflys ants and such.... (art help would be appreciated but i will do my best)



And I have a question why can't varied troll units be created? :eng:
