I like the most recent chart. I have a feeling whatever is selected at this point will work out well. The last couple flow charts seem excellent. This era is on the way to better things! :)

*grumbles* I think we've already been through Development Hell (or Hel, if you prefer the Norse spelling :geek: ) several time now. :P

Thanks, Deusite. :)

We'll go with that chart.

FYI, what I just posted is not the new doom guard :P

It's the third from the left on the second row of this:

Okay, so just to clarify one last time--
this is the final, final, final advancement chart, right?

Yes, except that e_s said he wanted to be a Doom Guard and not the Overlord I posted

And I second what Golbeeze said :D

Looks good! I vote we call that last one a final before one or both of the developers has a breakdown. The mage line has several options but there's no obvious "best" layout, so we might as well take the current one.

More seriously, I'm glad this has come to a close. However, we're now way off our original timeline, so the release date will probably end up being later than planned. But if the advancement chart has improved through all of this, it was worth it. :)

The ONLY thing I have to comment on now (I really do like the "final" flow chart for advancement), is the hunter line. I just feel like it should go elf---> baldie. Its probably just my opinion, but somehow going from a neat bald unit (makes me think psion for some reason) to an elf just feels weird.

Otherwise, hurray for final advancement setup!v :D I can't wait for beta. I offer my services to assist in balancing once you have a playable version. I worked heavily on balancing the Mercenaries era by PsychoticKittens and lightly on other balancing projects.

Personally I think the tree is best left as it is, since someone - Elvish Hunter better reflects their forum rank.

Minor corrections for my unit description, (I was in a weird mood when I first wrote it :P)
Spoiler:
I might also be encouraging more people to write unit descriptions ;)

Yeah, user-created descriptions were something of an afterthought, so some people may still be unaware of it. I'll have to contact those parties at some point, but right now I'm focusing more on balancing. Descriptions are the icing on the cake... you can still enjoy it without, but it's even better with. I've wired in all the descriptions provided thus far save Stern's, although I now also need to replace Deusite's with the revised version.

Might be difficult if I tell you I haven't made a Doom Guard with shadows. Be a dear and make one for me when you plug it in, won't you? :)

I noticed that I am a Level 2 unit without any advancement. Considering this, may be a good idea to add me a simple AMLA system like this one? :Awesome:
  • +1 melee damage, +20% xp
  • +1 melee attack, +50% xp
  • +1 ranged damage, +20% xp
  • +1 ranged attack, +50% xp
