Reduction in Power When Leveling is Bad.

If you have a promotion that is worse in some area, you need a secondary promotion that keeps the old aspect. This exists a lot in mainline where one branch has to preserve the old damage type/etc. or (rarer) that each promotion preserves aspects: merman hunter, mage, spearman (to javilineer), elvish shaman, dark sorcerer, etc.

except you don't exactly see the nightgaunt getting the drains special back. it gets the backstab special as a 'replacement'. here the apothecary has an ability, advances and losses it, then advances again and it has the same ability back again :hmm: . meanwhile the other branch's lvl2 and lvl3 get heals+8/cures.

huh, wierd. but my question still stands: why does the heals+4 ability skip a level? and if it isn't going to change, maybe something should be added to the description as to why they temporarily lost it?

Here are fixed/slightly updated versions. i have added a credit document i need you to review it pent and add everything i missed feel free to change anything you see a problem with to.

For Wesnoth 1.6.x:
Era_of_the_Future_Dev_Release_0.1.8.zip
(537.98 KiB) Downloaded 82 times
For Wesnoth 1.7.5:
Era_of_the_Future_Dev_Release_0.1.8.zip
(537.98 KiB) Downloaded 80 times

Oh and the reason the herbicider doesn't have heals+4 is because apothecary shouldn't either. but i didn't fix it yet. wesfreak your fixes still haven't been included yet because i didn't get a chance yet. this update was just something small i got done in between classes today. just be glad the bug with 1.7.5's version is fixed.

nothing much that i saw. only thing: in the intro message was maybe grouping the two sentences about bugs next to each other, or just making it one sentence.

for the credits, also nothing major:
1. forgot 2 periods in my 'list of stuff i do'
2. origional is spelled original
3. maybe add a colon after the word Credits? more of an aesthetic thing though.

PS- if something doesn't work on the 1.6 versions, i probably will not know about it because i won't be downloading it much anymore unless im going to play it with one of you guys online. i won't be downloading it because the 1.6 version i have has an ungodly amount of add-ons and takes at least 5 minutes to load after any tiny change to anything.

I know it may be too early to ask, but what other factions are planned for EotF?

hmmm. well, we haven't really decided yet. mirion wants to be the only person in charge of coming up with new faction ideas, but that isn't the best course of action in my opinion, so i'm thinking once the Brungar are comppleted we can brainstorm ideas for the next faction and then after we have an idea from everyone concerned with development(anyone and everyone who contributed to making the Brungar possible will get a say more than likely) we can all vote on it. I think this will work because i doubt everyone would just choose what they suggested. The biggest problem i can see is that we don't have enough good spriters, the reason the welkin took so long to finish was that once the initial coding of them were done Mirion was on his own to finish coding them.(he is not the best at coding) we are actually having the same problem with the Brungar as we did the welkin only in reverse. we have a good coding base, writing base, and bqalancing base, but we don't have enough spriters to keep up with the pace we can now get everything coded.

So I should get off my lazy behind and learn to do some GIMP-ing?
Might be a good idea.
