An idea that was concieved half-awake

Post by Xandria »

First, a disclaimer:
*Xandria likes Canada. Low population density, low crime, beatiful nature, a democracy that seems to work...

*Despite being into metal and classical music, Xandria likes a few songs by Brian Addams and Celine.

*Xandria does not intend any offense by this post.

I had like 38 or 39 degrees fewer (celsius, mind you), was shaking so that I almost spilled my Coldrex, when this sprang to my mind.

A faction that sums up the stereotypes we hold against Canadians.
If you dislike infantile humor, read no further.

The Faction

There are several common traits of this faction:
*Resistance to cold
*Weakness to fire
*Good movement in forests, hills, swamp and snow. Bad movement on sand.

Let's take a look at the units:

*Hockey player. Fast on ice. Impact damage with his hockey stick, can fire the puck for a ranged impact shot.

*Lumberjack: of course blade damage. Could throw sawblades for rangd damage. When he ends movement in a forest tile and has move poins left, you can right-click on him to remove the forest and recieve 1 or 2 gold.
Could have a lvl2 only variant with Berserk - Drunk Lumberjack.

*Moose rider: the cavalry. Not too fast, quite good HP.

*Camper kid - Camper - Veteran Camper - Park Warden: have a melee fire attack (Forest Fire?) Can use camping songs for ranged damage.

*Songwriter
- Bad Songwriter - Horrible Songwriter
- Poet - French poet
Of course, they cause horrible damage at range, and bash people with guitars or ... keyboards?

Heroes would be of course Brian and Celine. At level 2, they could attack using playback songs, on level 3 they would gain the attack "Live gig".

Again, please,. do not lynch Xandria. When Xandria tries to be funny, it usually is a bad thing.

We would never.
But personal I would.
Just for listening to Celine.

Also, the faction should have a penalty to upkeep but all units get free healing whenever they want (socialized heath care).

fun idea

sounds like xmas-only package or similar rare events, so "normal" people would never ever have to deal with crazy stuff like this ;)

you forgot the healer of the faction: Greenhouse farmer. not only does he have "special herbs" that can heal your units (and incapacitate enemies), but at higher levels he is invisible at night (how else could they deal?) and moves quite well in dense terrain (again, how else could they deal?)

plz don't flame me...
If you have to ask.......

Hm. The montie could have a close-combat handcuff attack that slows. And a dreadful parking-ticket attack: 16-1 impact.

Discount Pharmacist: Provides cheap drugs to heal his teammates.
Foreigners want his deals too and who is he to refuse?
He may heal enemy troops he's next to, but he can disable the enemy's own healing units in the process.

Ooh, lets not forget about maple trees! We can base them off of the Woses and call them Canadian Woses or something.

They retain their crush attack while they have a new attack, "maple syrup" which would be a ranged attack being of the fire variety (syrup is good hot) while slowing the defender.

How would they get along with the lumberjacks? O.o
Perhaps if you have a Tree and recruit a lumberjack, all of your trees go AWOL?

Lumberjacks have an aura which grants any trees nearby an enormous-damage, kamikaze, single hit impact attack called 'TIMBEEERRRRR!!'
