playtom wrote:some great wesnothian artist are willing to provide the sprites
Ummm... That's most likely not going to happen, mostly because wesnoth is already stretched thin on artists. And for those very few who do work on usermade stuff (like me), there are even more sprites to do.

However, in the end, when the faction is on the add on server in a nice, good, playable state and exhibits potential, perhaps some guy (like me) might decide you can get one or two free sprites.

Note:This is finished art for most units,all we need is a FROG sprite.

Here is what the frog stats would be:

Giant Frog
HP:45 MP:5 XP:45
Squish (impact) 7-2 charge melee
Tongue (impact) 7-2 ranged
Toxic Poison (impact) 5-2 poison melee

..........and a unit tree
Giant Frog-->Big Frog-->Massive Frog
-->Fire Frog-->Inferno Frog
-->Ice Frog-->Blizzard Frog

More stats will come soon!

Unless there's a very large cost for that frog, it is very overpowered. More charge than the horseman, poison... AND a ranged tongue attack. Which combined all together, make it a very overpowered and too highly specialized unit. I think the Charge impact is especially overpowering. Dropping the poison perhaps, and making the charge impact attack weaker, perhaps changing the tongue ranged to melee firstrike.

Curious, why does your frog get poison? Is there a certain frog it is modeled after?

If the frog turns out to be overpowered, you could always crush its abilities on Hills, Mts. Deep water, and plains. Let alone sand. In trees and swamps I can see it being a very nifty unit. if you limit it properly you shouldn't have a problem with higher stats.

Two things - when recolouring these, why didn't you do it with a recolour filter? Then you wouldn't have the green outlines left over which frankly, look ugly, and you would have maintained the shading much more. And what on earth are those things on their heads?

This took about 5 seconds... In GIMP, go to Tools > Colour Tools > Colourise. That will give you a tool that will change the Hue, Saturation and Brightness of the colour in a whole image, or selected portion thereof. It'll need a bit of cleaning up afterwards, but it'll look much better.

It's not brilliant, and still needs some cleaning up, but it's more to show you how to do it.

I use paint... (no clue why I said it)
but you should try putting shadows on the crests. like put shadow on the left side more so it doesnt look like as if that picture right there if the front of the frog (if it was, that would be freaky)
I like cheese, TYVM (Thank You Very Much).
