Well from frame 2 up to frame 6 (frame 1 in next reply)

Well, here is a quick base frame for the Greensnake, it is supposed to be a scout that moves well in forests, and are hard to detect due to their skin coloration.

It still a few tweaks and then it will be ready for use for anyone that want it.

you read my mind on the jungle naga.

I think your version looks great. however I would like to see the spear being help on a bit of a angle. it looks to ridgid. doesn't seem like the natural way to hold it.

another naga I can imagine is a Desert Gaurdian naga. I see him to be slightly larger then the normal naga. holds a two handed scimitar and has a few peices of armor on.

could you take a shot at making this naga?

Here is a retouched versión of the greensnake base frame, it is the spear now handled better?

and about the suggestions to draw a desert naga... I'm not interested on it since its neither a mainline improvement nor one of the units I tought for my faction (since that has more priority), but feel free to draw it yourselves if you want by frankensteining pieces from higher levels nagas and armors from other units graphics :)

it probably has room for improvement since I'm still a beginner at spriting art but I think that having at least the base frames for the units would be good enough for testing purposes.

Next thing I'll probably do is either other of the missing nagas base frames or the movement of the naga hunter.

Also, if one of the most experiences players could be that kindly in suggesting some variance on the movetypes of the nagas I'll be glad since I'm not accostumed on that aspect but the main idea is:

Aquatic Nagas (naga movetype as is tought they should had description of naval or similar to help players differenciate it)

Land Dwellers (variation on the movetype/defense, these nagas are more lond dwellers than their cousins so they move better in land (and forests) but its water movement its a bit worse (maybe similar to elf movetype?)

Have a nice weekend.

Wekk, here comes a few images more and a fix for the greensnake base frame.

in the case of defend, please tell me which one looks better and what things need to be retouched since its for the naga hunter in hopes to go to mainline.

doh! the "surprised lines doesn't look to well without background" I'll add a background so you can appreciate those two better in next post

Thanks for your time

Im not very good with the sprite art but here is a quick shot at the spear position. it is completly based off your sprite. which was done so well. I think it is great. I really can't stress that enough. it can be so hard to appreciate the difficulty. then, you see the pixel detail up close.

You did a very good work, and yes its rather difficult to see things when it is zoomed, I suppose the experts are more accustomed to work that way :)

between, I retouched a bit your spear (the wooded part) looks better this way?

also added first frame of defend for the greensnake tought it's hard to notice it if its not in game.

Between, the previous hunter moving frame (bow downwards) has the bow on wrong angle, tought it was to exemplify the idea I had, it looks better that way or you prefer the normal one? (here are three frames)

Yeah, but it needs to be noted even if it was only based on one already made, because you took the effort and time in trying to improve and that's already something valuable (and the way to learn/improve)

by the way for anyone I was thinking to have a hybrid faction with these nagas, the water oriented units and the earth-dwellers ones (with maybe one or two units capable of both as supporting units)

So far:

Aquatic: Naga Warrior, Warden. Depthstalker?
Crawler: Naga Hunter/Archer, Naga Greensnake (Scout with ambush)
Hybrid: Constrictor?

Still need to think the place of the Constrictor, Viper, and Cobra, and I was thinking in adding a Naga youth as a lvl 0 unit.

Any ideas are welcomed. Happy weekend to all

I took a try at the desert Naga. Its not amazing, but, I can't work on it anymore right now.

Gameplay wise I imagine the desert Naga to be a bit of a tank/fighter.

alittle, blade and pierce resistance. Close stats to the orc grunt. Awsome defence on sand tiles. normal movement on land, but, as a twist, It cannot travel water tiles because of its heavy armor and desert nature.

Faction wise, we need 8-10 recruitable units.

ready So far;

Water Naga
- Naga Fighter
- Naga Hunter(archer)

Land Naga
- Naga Greensnake (does he get ambush?)
- Desert Naga?

In design;

- Constrictor (what is he, I don't understand)
- Underworld/cave Naga? poison unit maybe?
- Deepstalker. Backstab, water ambush, or poision ? both/all ? submerge and nightstalk would be a neat combo.
-Leader, Magic or healer Naga?
- Flying Fish Naga? I think this would make for an interesting Scout. would it be possible in WML to have a unit gain flying if it started its turn in water? ( i got this idea for a glider type unit that jumps of mountains. but thats, another faction....)

Non-Naga, faction possibilities

- Wizard/ Summoner, Type Unit.
- A Beholder (giant eyeball) would be pretty cool.
- Monsters ? Giant sea Hawk, Giant lizard. I once played against a Octopus/squid thing, it was pretty cool, lossing attacks as it took damage.
- Water Elemental.
-Floating Jellyfish?

personally I don't like the naga youth idea, because, I imagine Naga being summoned or hatching at full age. (this is just me).

Maybe we could Make a Naga-thing with legs likeness of these

Because of a zombie like intelligence he could start as a level 0 then grow into a stronger monster.
