My vote goes for the flipped version.

EDIT: actually, scratch that. I've noticed that the shading looks peculiar when the icon is flipped. I go for the non-mirrored set.

turin wrote::? I definitely see Jetryl's point. The two bows are much more obviously the same attack type in the non-flipped version. And I don't think the flipping helped a lot with the directionality; IMHO, it makes the bows look awkward, and does't much of a difference with the others.

I'm going to have to switch my vote to, don't flip them.
I agree. To get the 'flip' to work all weapons need to have the same tilt in the same direction in the base version. As we see in this the sword and bow tilt to opposite sides to begin with and then when it's flipped the bow seems all wrong even though it's the right way. Not to mention that it looks totally random since now both sides flip both ways.

I don't need a mock-up to cast my vote as no, but hell that does look awkward.

I hope no one proposes to place the units in the side they are attacking too.

Jetryl has no traits?

Surely he would at least have Intelligent.

I don´t care about flipping, but the mace seems to be an axe to me, the crossbow and the sling a normal bow. :?

Having actually seen it now, I vote 'no' to flipping. It looks really unnatural when it's precisely symmetrical like that...

The Mace, Sling and Crossbow icons haven't been made yet. Eleazar probably just grabbed the closest icons he could find to use as placeholders.

Having seen it, I concur that Jetryl's intuition was right. No flip.

It's just like the manga writers who protest when people want to flip their work so that american's can more easily read it...it makes the art look funny.
Sorry for the meaningless post

Not that it matters much, but I'll vote for flipping. It just looks better.

Not flipped.

Flipped looks like we're trying too hard. Not flipped looks much more iconic, which I think is good.

After seeing that, I conclude that *both* ways are awkward. Do as you will.
It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.

It's an ugly hack which would require much polish in terms of placement, but does the attached variant "feel" any better?
