I love the emaciated look; it's very ascetic. Holy men (and women) who starve themselves seem to be a common feature to many religions; I think it's very appropriate for the Mage of Light. I think I've mentioned it before, but your ability to show distinct personalities in your portraiture is most impressive. It really sets your pieces apart from stereotypical fantasy portraits, which tend to show the same body types and facial expressions over and over and over again.

No I don't. Very nice - I love the design of his face; it's perfect for the unit, IMO.

Hmm. New MOL looks a lot like a young(ish) Richard Thompson to me.

Not, I hasten to add, that I'm suggesting that that's a bad thing. :)

after all your extremely nice comments on the MoL i felt inspired to do another one today... :wink: (not to mention that he is the last one (finally!) and i can see light at the end of the tunnel!)

the dark sorcerer/necromancer is only a wip obviously (no comments on the colours!) - please imagine cool sparkling effects between his hand and the skull!

I love his robes and i like the way to me that dark magic has still effected him and he looks older.

Thus far, it's looking basically ... flawless. Love the design, again. :D

The way the creepy skull on his staff stares with blind eyes in the same direction as the necromancer himself, mirroring the true nature of his soul... just superb.

I agree with what Redeth said. It looks good.

This may just be opinion, but...

I don't know how you'll so the whisps & sparkles, but I hope you can keep the synchronized gaze. It is an interesting variation on what the female version is doing. If the sparkles are just between the hand and staff, it might lose some of the effect.

Fantastic =D

I also like the fact that that appears not to be a human skull - my guess, based on size and shape, would be Goblin =D

Just wondering, but what are the spikes that come from the chin of the skull? I mean, are they teeth? If so, the "owner" of the skull didn't go to dentist when he lived... :lol: I mean, it's good that there's that kinda thing. :D I really like your portraits, I hope I could draw so goodly... :)

Somehow the pauldrons and the jacket reminds me of a punk who got old. :mrgreen:
Nothing wrong about the art superb as usual. Just not that menacing and manic as I would imagine an Necro.

i just had to do it - i laughed so hard on shadow's comment.........

seriously, he is still far from finished, i'll see how the effect will look, the skull is some kind of ape but goblin is fine with me, too and the shards of bone sticking in the skull are part of jetryl's original design, they have something to do with dark magic, cthulhu and look cool.
