Forum timeout

Post by Loci »

I spent the better part of an hour writing a review only to have the forum software automatically log me out and discard it. A one-hour timeout is ridiculous for a game forum.

You have setting that allows you to not be logged out.

If you are writing something really long, you can also use the "save as draft" function, or compose it with a word processing software.

That doesn't ever happen to me. One thing to try is when it says something like "Submitted form is invalid" and your post text is gone, then hit preview and your post text should be back in edit mode, then submit again. That is why I say it doesn't happen to me, since that trick rescues my posts. As a backup, before you hit submit, hit control-a, control-c, to copy your text. Alternatively, you can copy after you hit submit, like if it seems to be taking a long time and you are getting nervous.
