Home page portrait

Post by Cernunnos »

Hi,

Can i suggest the home page portrait being changed for a more recent portrait, more in the current style, elves, loyalists, knalgans, skeletons... there is a lot of better portraits to go with...

Maybe this portrait is kept for a reason i don't know, souvenir, wesnoth mainline story etc... but if it's not the case, some other portrait would do fine, isn't it?

Maybe some little php lines making it change from time to time would be even better?

Just asking...
"While portrait art may be where Wesnoth gets its glamour, and sprite art may be where Wesnoth gets its zest, it's the terrain art that's so crucial to Wesnoth's polish - it's the canvas that the rest goes on." Sangel

There was talk of having it automated to rotate through all/a select set of the generic transparent portraits on SVN at one point... An idea which I fully support =D

We get many visitors per day. If we linked to the images directly from SVN, it'd give Gna.org too much extra load, perhaps, and impact the performance of the repository. Affecting the developer's productivity.

However, keeping local copies would be perfectly feasible.

I thought that that would probably be the case - but as you say, setting up a set of local copies would be doable.
