Best maps for tournament play?

I'm hosting a tournament over at Bay12games, and I need some help: which maps are best for tournament play?

If you are asking for balanced 1v1 maps for the stable version (1.8.x) you can get the RMP or RBY addon. They both include the most recent versions of the default mainline 1v1 maps + some newer maps. With both addons you can either choose the maps you want to play or choose a map pack where a map will be randomly chosen. If you want to get safe the conservative maps are for you(select RBY or RMP conservative and hover over the map image and you will see a list of the included maps). RMP All respectively RBY adv+conservative have some more complex maps in them. Both addons will also randomise who will start as player 1 and player 2. The difference between the addons mostly is that RBY also includes a no mirror era that prevents mirror match ups which is entirely optional to use.
