PapaSmurfReloaded wrote:Does anybody here knows if using [set_menu] and [message] in sideturn events causes desyncs in multiplayer?

I read something along those lines in the wiki and got worried, because if it were true I'd have to change many things and replace them with uncooler things(though actually these "cool things" were never supposed to be in game, I kind of ran into them).
It depends if your message has options. Check this out to see which events are synced (will not cause OOS in MP if it changes somethin)

About the menu - you mean the right-click context menu, right? By itself, it will cause OOSes in MP. You have two options to avoid this, though:

1) Forget about the [command] it contains and copy that code over to a "name=menu item X" event, which is synced (see link above). I tend to prefer this method since it is more instinctive.

2) depending on the behavior you want your menu to have, you could also use "needs_selec=yes". It will require a select event to go along with it.

The new version of the resource kit is on the add-on server already.

And thanks, I'll check out that set_menu X thing when I'm finished making the quest.

A little update.

Albeit slowly because I have been really lazy lately, the project is still going on and about 30% of the main quest is finished.

I could release a little demo but I think it will be better to just wait until I can release a beta.

Another update, well the game was kinda finished almost up to the last boss.

But right now my computer has kind of died <_<

I haven' lost the whole the project or anything along those lines but if I can't fix or get latest version from the HD I'll have to remake a scene.

There should definitely be a beta before the end of the first half of september :P

Hi hawkh20 (hoping that you aren't an automated poster).

Read this. I removed your smilies accordingly.

I don't want help, nor need it either, thanks though.

I'm the finest example of an autocrat there is on this forum.

If you want to do something for me, then please don't post weird stuff in my topic.

This sounds like a cool add-on to have when it's up and running. I would be interested in beta testing this when it comes out.

(Sounds kind of like L4D  )

First beta is on the add-on server.

If any of you find any problems, post here. Typos in the dialogues or desyncs if there are(hopefully not).

Also I need some feedback on the difficulty level of the game overall, monsters, weapons, etc.

EDIT: Go figure, monday morning is a horrible time to test things.

0.0.3 Beta is out, fixed all the known bugs in the tested part of the game.

By turn 244 we had done about 60% of it, and we had played for about 3 hours, but then we got brutally murdered by a boss :|

If you play, remember to save your game every 30-50 turns, autosaves for some reason are always corrupted.
