The Dread Bat

I was looking at the 1.6 unit list and I wasn't really feeling the dread bat. The bat always seemed like a scout to me, and the blood bat was just a little better at it, having more mp and hp, but this new bat looks like it could easily be overpowered especially with the size of the attack (6-4) + healing for half the damage... I think this unit is just a little too unbalancing in the undead's favour, especially with them already having ghouls(best unit ever).

I would never propose a unit change under normal circumstances but since this unit isn't out in the stable version yet, and what it does for the undead, It seemed necessary to me.

First, do you play much with the undead? Have you actually used the bat in the latest versions? I don't want to turn the discussion into this, but the Ghoul is not the "best unit ever." The bat isn't exactly a power unit to begin with. It is a fragile level 0 and if you allow the enemy to level it up, it's your own fault. I think the bat deserves the level 2 powerup because they just didn't have staying power as it was.

The dread bat's attack is exactly as strong as the wraith's, and wraiths are generally easier to get.

Except, not arcane. So in most cases, the wraith has a better attack.

I don't see it on the unit list getting less terrain defense. But anyway, considering it needs 70 xp to level to it, I am sure you could be pouring your xp to better units.

I agree with the op. Remove the ghoul as it is the best unit EVAR.

oh, ok then i am wrong.

i just had the dread bat from EE in mind, which lost 10% Terrain def (which was pretty lame, and one of the worser upgrades :mrgreen: )

so if it doesnt lose 10% def then its actually useful

Hmmm, I think not. If anything the skeletons are a good reason to play undead.

But anyway, back on topic, The dread bat is a great unit for the undead.
