Change Gliders defense to 50% everywhere like Gryphon Riders
Change Dark Adepts movement through shallow water to 3 instead of 2



makes sense imo

Gryphon Riders have 60% on hills and mountains, actually.
That small detail aside, the glider already is fairly cheap, and has a great movement rate. Its defense is being able to run away to heal, not dodging. Of course, the gryphon does both, but it is expensive.
At least that is the gameplay reasons. I don't know why the story reason is.

are you sure dark adepts have 2 mp on shallow water. They should already have 3...

EDIT: looked it up: their mp cost is 3 in shallow water as it should be.

ah my bad, it was the skel archers and warrior that had the 2 mp through shallow water


but i still stand by my 50% glider idea, or ATLEAST 40% on grass

i see gliders get killed by 2 units ALL THE TIME

What are you talking about, they're a steal! My more expensive Dwarvish Berserkers get killed by just one unit all the time!

don´t think so.

maybe a cave in the middle of blitz helps a bit.

I nearly lost to an early elvish mermen rush on blitz...

a scout ghost and a ghoul or another leader would have saved you.

Drakes are supposed to get low defense- That's their nature. By giving the glider an all-around 50% defense, you would need to jack the price up on it- And the balancing required is not necessary. Besides, It has marksman ranged, is as effective as the gryphon scouting-wise, and is (the?) one of the cheapest scouting units at 16 gold. They die easy- that is well known. They aren't a front line fighting unit like the Elvish Fighter or Orcish Grunt- you need to take that into consideration as well. Even if you were to compare unit-to-unit, you're comparing statistics that are not relevant to the use of the Drake Glider. You should know that factions are balanced against factions- unit comparisons are worthless. Also by giving it all around 50% defense, you screw up a major improvement that happens when it levels into a sky drake- gains all around 50% defense with the exception of cave. It's a big, easy target to hit- that explains the defense. Your idea will likely plummet into the ground and burst into flames- next time give adequate reasoning for the change you present. This should answer any questions you have going by the lines, "Why not?". Sermon ended.
