Haha didn't you know TGT-Admins have special powers, that allow them to login on the server with previous versions of wesnoth client? Still using 1.2 here...The Black Sword wrote:alpha: what are those weird units in the background of your instructional picture? You know wesnoth is at 1.10 right?![]()

Nah i just prefer the minimalistic style of the old drakes (and not having to wait 10 seconds for burners attack animation to play through is also an advantage

Initially the organisation week was introduced to give players some extra time to contact their opponents and prepare for the tournament. But since everyone already had more than enough time to play training games, let's do it this way: You are free to play Round 1 games during the org. week, but remember to treat them as such, i.e. announce your games in this thread beforehand and post a replay once the game is over. Other than that the tournament will proceed at the regular pace: after the organisation week is over (September 9th) the 1st Round will begin. The Black Sword wrote:Question regarding the first round; if we find a time can we start before next Monday? In particular, it feels a shame to waste the weekend.
Bella wrote:So what happens if QeaPaco still doesn't show up in the subsequent rounds? Do I get to play permanently as thunder's teammate?
I took a closer look at the situation, QeaPaco neither appeared during the opening ceremony, nor is he registered on forum, which is a direct requirement for participation in the tournament:
So bearing this in mind, I request QeaPaco to make a post in this thread in the next 48h (from the time of this post), if he fails to do so Bella will become a permanent player for the Apocalyptic Recreation.8. Registration phase & Organisation Week
- Registration Phase starts 30th of July, 2013, you can join the tournament sending me a PM with your team name, your partner's name and you timezones. Registration message MUST have full nicknames of the players that will play in the team, it's forbidden to send a registration messages with only 1 player listed in them. Both players have to be registered on the boards to secure fluent communication between the teams! Because number of places in the tournament is limited, time of sending the recruitment message decides.
One more thing everyone: Should you be unable to get a hold of your opponents till September 7th, pls drop me a pm.
If you have any wishes or suggestions concerning the TGT or just want to drop me a message, pls pm me at: alpha1_pm
I won't be able to see any messages that are sent to alpha1.

I hear you, grzywacz! 48 hours and counting (almost 72 hours) and still no reply from AI, our beloved developer.
Regarding this absent mindness and absenteism in general, I do not want to sound like "I told you so", but didn't I tell you to be more rigorous when selecting the teams ? Didn't I tell you to request each imaginary "team member" to post a registration message on this forum ? Like me and Dauntless did. Team is not registered until both members post something on the forum. Of course Dunno decided to disregard my advice.
It is freaking unacceptable that we have a "team member" that is not registered on the forum. That's just poor organizing. He should be kicked out of the tournament immediately and somebody found in his place. Since "Bella" posted something here, she/he should take his place immediately.
We had weeks and weeks and weeks for the registration phase and you decided to fill in the list as quickly as possible with imaginary players, instead of doing a very simple and easy minimal enthusiasm check.

Wait, what? Yesterday I hadn't received anything from anyone other than bumbadadabum, who said his schedule was pretty free except for friday. I hadn't replied to that yet because my schedule was similarly free at the time, though stuff is creeping in now. I was considering prodding the two of you because I hadn't heard anything from you.neki wrote:I hear you, grzywacz! 48 hours and counting (almost 72 hours) and still no reply from AI, our beloved developer.
I've posted in this thread numerous times, I have no idea what this complaint is about.Regarding this absent mindness and absenteism in general, I do not want to sound like "I told you so", but didn't I tell you to be more rigorous when selecting the teams ? EDIT:
bumbadadabum notes that I should point out that I did receive a PM in similar tone to this post yesterday. I simply did not see it before being linked to this post because I hadn't visited the forums. This PM contains absolutely no matchup information though. =/
The PM also states that I am the last person not to state my matchup information. I have received no such information from anyone other than bumbadadabum. I now suspect that this is caused by a lack of reply-to-all functionality in PMs.

The other PMs were only sent to your alt, which hasn't been online the past 4 years.AI wrote: EDIT:

Ok guys, i understand everyone (neki
) is passionate about the tournament, but it's still an organisation week, let's save some of the passion for the actual battles.
neki: Things do not always develop the way we would have hoped, but such is the nature of the world we live in. I hear what you say, but what's the point of crying over spilled milk now? We had much graver problems in the past editions of the TGT (it's just that you weren't THAT interested in the administration part back then), but we somehow managed to solve them, so I'm sure we will be able to solve current "problems" as well
Regardless of that i will ask all players to remain civil to each other and also remember the general rule of the TGT:

AI: The registration post left by bumbadadabum says your username is AI0867, which is the name people are supposed to use to contact you. So if neki was writing you messages on AI0867 and got no answer in the last 3 days and also considering you didn't answer on the 3 previous posts adressed directly to you (1, 2, 3), it's understandable how one might have assumed, your team lost interest in the TGT.bumbadadabum wrote:The other PMs were only sent to your alt, which hasn't been online the past 4 years.

Proper communication is crucial for the success of the tournament, but as we are all talking over the internet and don't actually see each other, misunderstandings may accure, pls keep this in mind- GENERAL RULE: have fun, respect other players & their time

Excellent, first game arranged, and nabbed a prime-time spot before they fill up
TBS and tek - not sure how much experience you two have, but me and plk have been around a while, so if you need any advice during the game, just ask

Ladies and gentlemen, it's raining games!
We already have two games scheduled for this Sunday, one at 16:00 GMT, another at 15:00*! Can somebody offer a game at 14:00? Hurry up and maybe your team will be the one to draw...
In other news: as QeaPaco didn't show up in the time given to him, I'm now happy to declare Bella new permanent player for the team Apocalyptic Recreation! Welcome on board!
*EDIT: 15:00 BST which is apparently 14:00 GMT

Re: The Grand Tag! 2v2 Tournament - 4th edition (Org. week!)
So it seems to me that N-2 teams are dragging the scheduling of matches. It-s been 5 days already and only two matches scheduled.
Re: The Grand Tag! 2v2 Tournament - 4th edition (Org. week!)
Quick question on the timing of the RNG - Name Pending game. Neki said "15:00 London time", which given London is currently in BST (British Summer Time) would be 1400 GMT. Did you mean GMT there, neki?

To Oook - our time master form now on, TGT referee decision
- and to other Wesnoth players out there, who for the most part are chronologically disabled:
If I say 15:00 BST people will get confused and will assume 15:00 GMT and be there one hour later and then even mock me for messing up the time. Therefore, I propose we say the name of a city when stating time.
So, yes, the match will be at 15:00 BST (London time), therefore 14:00 GMT.
Dauntless, bumbablabla... and AI, the match is at 14:00 GMT, 15:00 BST, 15:00 London time, I repeat 14:00 GMT, 15:00 BST, 15:00 London time.
