Re: Best two units, the tournament
Ok.. Because I am noob' and I do not want to download another version: We are using 1.9.0 (the first of the development series) to play this tournament, right?
Thanks

Thanks

Re: Best two units, the tournament
No, the most recent one (1.9.12, if nothing changed in last two days).
I'm not native english speaker so, please, excuse me for using comma at random.

@ZhuQ: As I've already told you via pm the procedure isn't that hard. Basically uncleshelby already told us what to do.
Though, it seems like a little extended version (a GUI-heavy one ^^) might be needed here, so here's what to do:uncleshelby wrote:Options:
1) Compile from source.
2) Install with Rhonda's PPA. How to enable that repo, here. Then runsudo apt-get install wesnoth-1.9
3) Use less smilies. Wait, that's not one. Whoops.
- Take a short look at RepositoriesUbuntu, especially the section "Adding Repositories in Ubuntu" and open your "Software Sources interface" (easiest via menu bar: "Ubuntu Software Center" > Edit Menu > "Software Sources".
If you did everything correctly, you will see this.:
- Click on the tab "Other Software" and leave that window open.
- Check your Ubuntu version either by executing the command "
lsb_release -a
" in a Terminal or checking via "System > About Ubuntu" in your menu bar. - Now let your browser go to Rhonda's page.
- Under "Adding this PPA to your system" click on "Technical details about this PPA".
- Next to "Display sources.list entries for:" , choose the Ubuntu version you have installed (the one you found in 3.).
- Copy the first line
- Go back to the window with the "Other Software" tab opened (2.).
- Click on "Add" Should look like this:
- Paste the line you copied in 7. in there and hit "Add Source".
- Repeat steps 7-10 with line two.
- Close the "Software-Sources" window and select "Reload" to update the list.
- Now go to your "Synaptic Package Manager" via "System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager" in your menu bar.
- Search for "wesnoth 1.9" and install the data.
- Be happy!

Aww, too late for a fun tournament. Though I was surprised to see only *one* guy to take the ultimate HP/DMG pair, and it had to be Doc:

Re: Best two units, the tournament
since i decided to play a few games today, i had to notice that i cannot join the MP server because 1.9.13 is required.
oddly, 1.9.13 isnt available yet.
is it just me ?

The best bet is your own, good Taste.
Re: Best two units, the tournament
Interesting... I have the same issue, but I joined the server an hour ago and it worked fine. Maybe we have a surprise update coming

Re: Best two units, the tournament
The reason some of us didnt take this pair is since doc already did;) its no fun to have two guys with the same pairing.grrr wrote:Aww, too late for a fun tournament. Though I was surprised to see only *one* guy to take the ultimate HP/DMG pair, and it had to be Doc:

Seems like the webpage hasn't been updated yet, it's available on sourceforge though.Mabuse wrote:since i decided to play a few games today, i had to notice that i cannot join the MP server because 1.9.13 is required.

Re: Best two units, the tournament
What times will the rest of the people from my group be available to fight? Been hanging around the servers a bit but haven't seen anyone.
Re: Best two units, the tournament
Same question for me!

Re: Best two units, the tournament
the easiest way is to personal PM your opponents rather then randomly hope you catch them on imo.
