New member - New pieces...

Post by anapoda »

Hi everyone.
In advance, I apologize for my english (I'm french and "google translate" is not always good at its job). Feel free to correct me.
Thank you for this excellent game that made me lose a lot of hours in the greatest joy. Bravo to the developers and contributors, all talented.
I really like BFW's musical universe. It is very close to mine.
I sadly abandoned it for a long time because of work and other bullshits but I plan to get back to music starting with remixing some tracks I composed a very long time ago.
I hope to find here some attentive and objective ears and, if you think I deserve it, contribute in the future.
For now, I would like to know your opinion about those few pieces.
In those times, I recorded that on a compact cassette so be lenient on the audio quality.
Just tell me if it's worth to continue.
the tracks are here

Please, use simple words to talk with me : english is not my native language.

if something sounds good for your ears, send me a pm... if not, you can also send me a pm.

The music is interesting, nice textures, something like Philip Glass. I think the samples sounded outdated, though you did a nice job with them. I think you should take a look in the forum, there's lots of resources here that can be useful to you. Good Luck!

Thank you Marcus for listening and for your encouragement.
"outdated" must be the right word : all tracks were made using Emu Proteus 2XR orchestral sequenced with Cubase 2.0 for Atari and recorded with the Alesis Quadraverb multi-effects unit about 18 years ago !
That said, I already did some testing using other most recent sounds but it's quite complicated to find the same type of atmosphere.
I'm probably too used to the original and I'm not objective enough.

  , What an old stuff!! I never thought cubase's first version was for Atari. I really think you should learn to use a new DAW and most recent stuff. Just a detail, I have the same age of your tracks, I'm 18 old :lol2:

It's not nice to make fun of old people :P (...wanted to say old stuff).
It's been a long time since I swapped my Atari for a PC. But things have not simplified. On the contrary, there are more things to learn and to understand.
Finally, I would rather get back to compose rather than trying to do the same thing as before.
I already started but it takes a long time. (sigh...).

:| to be continued...
