That would be a question for West, I could make a piano transcription for you if you want, it's a bad ass song, I know. Give me a couple days and i'll arrange a piano score. It's a very simple piece, but it's absolutely beautiful.

sur.nhm: I'm flattered that you want to play TKID on piano! However, I don't read music so I have no score to give you. Your best bet is probably Tyler's very generous offer.

Now, if any or both of you guys end up recording a piano version of the piece, I would be very interested in hearing it!

Sorry for the delay, I just recently moved back on to a cruise ship for another 6 month contract. I have a lead sheet for The King is Dead and I will record a piano arrangement for it tonight, and transcribe it. Only thing is, I can't use my computer to connect to the internet, so I will have to wait until i'm in a port city with an internet cafe to upload it, give me a couple days.

Yeah i'm still here. I have a lead sheet but still no recording. The stage staff on this ship are pricks and won't let me use the microphones to record, so I can either use my [censored] macbook microphone or try to talk to my musical director and see if he can talk to them.

You should perform the piece on-stage for everyone and have it recorded too. :D

Wouldn't that be nice. If I can figure out the Korg Triton maybe I can record on mp3 within the board and then bounce it to an mp3 and transfer it via usb to my computer, anyone know triton boards? I know TimothyP uses them...

Why can't you just do a recording from the audio-out to the line-in on your sound card? You can use Audacity to record it and use the LAME library to encode to MP3. I think that would be a bit simpler.

And remember that Wesnoth uses Ogg Vorbis not MP3 so converting from MP3 to Vorbis would just reduce quality for no gain.

well since i can't log onto the internet on the ship, and I have ProTools and leopard/vista, there is no compatability patch I can download, so until I get to a place where I can download the update for ProTools 7.3 I can't use my Mbox. Here is the pdf for the lead sheet. I know this is taking a while, but I will get this recorded asap :

Oh and to torangan, this isn't actually being submitted, this is just for fun. I will post an .mp3 when it's done. Unless, you guys want to put it in, but I don't know if solo piano music would fit the wesnoth style.

great!
I have compared them a bit & mine differs in some aspects, such as that I wrote it faster in a slower tempo (about 40) and I doubled some of the notes.
still, a great piece in both its versions, though it doesn't fit to be a piano solo, Gomen nasai. : :hmm:
