OpenRTS - OSS real-time strategy game

Post by openrts »

Just thought I'd tell you about OpenRTS, and maybe some people here will be interested in joining the team. It is a new project founded to create a real-time strategy game. We're creating it like a game-engine, so it will be easy to create modpacks. It features isometric graphics, networked multiplayer and single-player scenarios. The game is being developed using Python and SDL. The software is released under the GPL. See the website, at http://www.openrts.org

I'm not personally interested, (i like to think between each turn) but feel free to borrow our terrain graphics or whatever content you might want to help jumpstart your project.
Feel free to PM me if you start a new terrain oriented thread. It's easy for me to miss them among all the other art threads.

It deserves to be the signature of each hex-fan.
I'm sharing the same oppinion. RTS are not among my favorites, but I took a look at screenshots, and it looks interesting. Good luck with the project (and if you will be tired of RTS, make it hex-based  )

I'm a big fan of action. Still, I was brought up on RPGs and turn-based fighting systems so I still appreciate thinking time. It is far less realistic though. I'll check your site out.

I'm actually a fan of both-it was truly wesnoth that made me see that turn-based games are fun, previously I had only owned one of them(civ III).
Sorry for the meaningless post

I would be interested in something like OpenRTS. I tried to take a look into http://www.openrts.org but I've been redirected to kinda scam site like this videorewardspace.com/?sov=298900&id=aDS-cALL-gtv!!!U2FsdGVkX19hZGw3N0lha-Xjcd0H2uweBD7-8y7dFDU.

I've tried the link again but I'm getting redirected to kinda white page...

Moreover If i tried to use the src from the html frame (holy firebug) I'm getting redirected to http://www.groupon.it/?CID=IT_AFF_66_10 ... 4281075712

So what's about OpenRTS ??
