[interface] help buttom for unit advancement?

Post by Chewan »

New players might not be familiar with promotion opportunities,
I myself have problems with new units in UMC and their upgrade options.
I do not always check the possibilities before starting a scenario,
or do not remember the details. The 'agony of choice' might be a feature,
but I would rather like to check the unit tree than to go a few turns back
after having chosen the wrong carreer.
Currently there is only a link to 'Help' in the 'Recruit'-window.
Is it possible to have this bottom when the decision is required:
What should our victorious unit become?

(I think this idea has not been suggested yet and is not listed as FPI. Pardon if mistaken.)

You can see units advance paths in unit description (default hotkey d) (unless they are specifically marked hidden).

There should be a "Profile" button in the advancement dialog like in the recruit dialog. Is it missing?

The Founding of Borstep,
Secrets of the Ancients,
and WML Guide

Ah well, I imagined that there was a reason why nobody had come up with this splendid idea so far.
The big "Profile" button is not missing – I took it for a headline, never clicked on it.
Hotkey "d" works perfectly, too – I should take the Wesnoth Tactical Guide more seriously
and check the hotkeys list more often (though I am a mouse clicker, mostly too lazy to press a key).
Thanks for enlightenment – a step closer to achieving proper handling of the game. :?
