Undead Ogres

Post by Drakefriend »

In my opinion, Ogres should rather turn into troll-type WC then into human-type ones, as ogres have more in commmon with trolls then with human-both in their "style" and in their stats(as tregeneration is lost after death).
After far too long an absence, I have returned.
According to the quiz 100% Silver Mage (85% Archmage, 75% Shyde, 67% Flameheart and Ancient Wose,58% Assassin, Troll Warrior and Berserker). And my top score is exactly how I see myself.

Read this. It states that ogres are horribly misshapen humans. Because they're overweight and slow their movetype is more like a troll.

Well, actually it states that they are "remarkably similar to humans in form, although large and misshapen". Someone jumped to conclusions.

Ideally they'd have their own WC variant. But the interaction of plague and ogres is so rare that we've not had any call for them. If someone were to make such a variant of sufficient quality, we would probably put it in.

Haha thespaceinvader.

I recall around 1.4 seeing a Yeti get hit with plague and becomse a WC (the human variant). That was rather ... disappointing.

What's the English punctuation for dramatic pause anyway?

Oh, something else I wonder about, I haven't actually played in a while...
But, do different types of WC actually have different attacks?

They all use impact with Plague, but they have different strengths and movetypes IIRC.

Sure, but in the meantime, it would at least be a visual improvement if the ogres (and maybe even the yetis!) turned into the troll variant of the WC. If the original poster is correct, and that stats match better it should be a minor gameplay improvement as well.

I think it shows a little more care and attention to detail to turn them into something else non-human even if it isn't quite the right non-human form. For instance, i'd rather see a gryphon turn into an undead bat than an undead human. It may not be quite right, but it's closer. (This is just an example. The gryphon turns into a zombie drake, not a human)
Feel free to PM me if you start a new terrain oriented thread. It's easy for me to miss them among all the other art threads.
