Death Knight as Undead leader in Age of Heroes?

Post by Neoskel »

Is there any reason not to let the Death Knight be a leader-only unit for the Undead in the Age of Heroes? He is a lvl 3 which matches up and is an overall cool unit.

Is it because his art isn't complete?
Major balance issue? (not really a valid reason IMHO)

I did use the search button first too. :geek:

I suppose this would also apply to the Orc leader line being leader only units for both Default and Age of Heroes.

The orc leader is overpowerd, much better than the luitenuit in every way (If I recall right)

I see no reason why the death knight should not be an option though.

I'd propose that the Death Knight gets 40% blade resist (as opposed to 10% like it is now) and gets submerge before it gets added.

Just give Death Knight the Draug's movetype, it's almost identical except the Draug gets better resistances (except 10% more impact weakness). And yeah, it needs submerge. Giving the Death Knight a lvl 2 would also be nice, so it would be like the lieutenant line - AoH doesn't get much play. There's even similar art here for the "Death Baron" unit.

I definitely support this on aesthetic grounds: mounted units really add something to the undead faction.

Though the chocobone is a bit silly.. I wonder if adding it as a possible leader in default would have balance issues?

Mounted units tend not to be leaders for the reason that they don't want any leaders with a move greater than 6.

What are you talking about? The Death Knight is on foot and has a really big axe.

Makes sense, though by giving the unit enough of a glass chin one should be able to even this out.

Oh, right. I was thinking of another unit.

Why is that an immediate dismissal?

SMs one isn't being used anywhere but his own campaign and is made of bits from other units like the Loyalist General and Swordsman and his stock axe which he uses in everything. All the graphics used in mine were made especially for use in the Death Knight (or Death Baron in the case of the head) by other people. Last i checked mainline sprites look a lot better when they can't be immediately recognizable as using another units (separate line) parts, not to mention that it matches the Death Knight because it uses parts meant for it.

I mean yeah he has some animations for it already, but it wasn't committed. Which means the spot is still open as far as i know.

I hope i didn't sound conceited or anything there, just pointing out stuff and trying to contribute.

IMO it looks kind of powerful for a level 2.

It may be too much asking for more modifications, but why not lose the plumes and cape and add some TC surcoat falling from the fauld?.

I need to make Undead Cavalry. Problem is my fav concept is elite.

How bout just without the cape? The plume signifies leadership.
I also bumped his head down a little.

Please note, i'm just a frankensteiner really. This is Eternal's and Shadow Master's work.
