Spy doesn't quite work, it implies searching for information, not going and killing people.

How about Orcish Stalker?

Only the male ones. :P

More seriously, "man" is the generic term for "person", not just for "human"...

Orcish Marauder?

Orcish Painblade?

Orcish Daggerstrike?

Man..These stink...My thought processes aren't 100% this morning.

Anyone ever notice the assassin(from thief to rogue one) looks like Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

Not to sound too negative, but striker is a football (soccer) position. I'd expect it to come with natty shorts and a black-and-white ball...

I think i'm coming to the conclusion that it might be fine as it is lol. Maybe switch the l1 and l2 names around, though.

But according to both proper English usage and Wesnoth convention you'd be wrong; have you seen the Orcish Crossbowman unit recently? ;) Or how about the Dwarvish Guardsman, or Elvish Marksman? There's plenty of precedence for an "Orcish Manhunter" that hunts men, elves and dwarves.

Stalker sounds more like it would have backstab than assassin does...

why not simply Orcish Poisoner?

Assuming we really need to change the name, my vote is for manhunter, as it seems a very orcish style of thinking.

'Stalker' sounds OK, I think the rest is not better than assassin. And 'ninja' is completely off, IMHO

Elvish Pillager wrote:A unit with hardly any concealment-related abilities and that tends to go after the common soldier rather than especially important persons probably isn't an Assassin.

Guerrilla sounds nice.
I don't know about you, but my Orcish Assassins *do* go after "especially important persons", i.e. level 2s and 3s. Every hit point I can take off those units by poison is a hit point I don't have to take level 2 or 3 retaliation for. The Assassin doesn't always survive those missions, but if a level 2 is ZoCd by trolls or grunts and then poisoned, it's pretty reliably going to go down.

And poisoning the enemy's leader is a major accomplishment that can really cause them some trouble (unless it's a troll).

As for concealment-related abilities, I think their defense is intended to represent that. They don't actually have ambush or nightstalk but they are much harder to actually hit than your average orc.

So I think Assassin fits them pretty well.
