who says that my "roboots" are bad. Aren't they the main pillar of the so called modern societies. In consequence they must to be good or am I mistaken?

Cute little robot
Here is a picture of a cute little robot I have made for my era. I am not very good at drawing. He is called the Watcher and will be a scout-type unit.

I'm strongly reminded of a cartoon in the original A D & D manual. A wizard and a warrior are sitting around a table playing Payrolls and Paychecks, a role playing game in a future setting.
I suppose it could happen. Won't be mainline though.

why doesn't anyone focus on the modern day military?
we could have tanks, helicopters, rifleman, gunners, grenadier, snipers(marksman), special ops forces, battleships, submarine(submerge), bombers, dogfighters. etc
we could simply have an era about miltary around the world, for example, maybe soviet union on side, and USA on the other side. or maybe germany VS WW2 alliance. it would be far more interesting than funky urban combat between robots/police/junkies.

Roflmao. too funny.Syntax_Error wrote:or another way?
Elves -> Hippies
Dark Elves -> Emos
Undead -> Goths
Orcs -> Chavs
Loyalists -> little-sunday-schooled-kids (cause they want to be righteous all the time)
You could also add political Ideals to the mix.
Elves - Liberal socialists.
Dark Elves- Fascists
Orcs- muslims
loyalists- capitalists
Drakes-Communists
Mages of Light(or stupidity) Jerry falwell's or Pat Robertson's
Seriously, why are robots being considered "good". They're creations controlled by whoever owns them. Therefore they're neutral. They can be used by both evil and good or even just misguided. I can't see a robot having problems fighting at night or day.
Mafia setup. Bear in mind that the mafia is setup so it is hard to go down the chain of command and prosecute the Don for direct orders.
Dons
Consiglioris- Advisors to the Don, usually only one person per Don
lieutenants-Yes, they're called this. These report directly to the Consiglioris.
Button Men-These are highly regarded positions in the crime family. They've reached a degree of trust through an initiation process called "making their bones". promotion could be from soldier to wise guy to button man.
Thugs, hustlers, pimps- these and others like them are the lower echelon. They, if loyal, can move up in the ranks through deeds.

The big question is this: What era of mafia are we modeling off of? I'm assuming it's after the Mustache Petes stopped getting such good money from the US/Canadian alcohol prohibition, but how much more modern are we going to go?

Good point, Weeksy.
I would suggest starting with the prohibition era. You can cover Al Capone vs the Untouchables or Lucky Luciano's creation of the "Commission". Or even Lucky's "playing both sides against each other" In the Verranzano/Mazzaria war. You can throw the Dutch Schultz and Mad Dog Cole mobs in for good measure. With the Untouchables, scenarios could run into "bust x cases of canadian whiskey" while fighting off Capone henchmen, or "Ambush a car carrying bootlegged gin". I don't know how much fun the "IRS arrests capone for income tax evasion" scenario would be, but Maybe we can have accountants vs the paper trail.(That last bit was just an attempt at humor, don't take it seriously).
I've done a lot of study on these, so feel free to ask me questions.
Some campaigns could be:
Taking over the bootlegging completely in a city of your choice.
Taking over the garment district.
Taking over the unions.
I can't see the mafia vs cops panning out well, as the majority of cops easily took bribes from them especially to "look away" from acts of gambling, prostitution, or alcohol. WHy? Because they too considered them harmless vices that was a person's right of choice, not people enforcing their morality down people's throats.

I love this suggestion, although I guess the standard good vs. evil pattern is not sufficient to describe the complexity of it all.Radament wrote:this is one of my favorite threads ever, already
crackwhores, potheads, bums and pimps pitted against tax-collectors, hedgefond-managers, lawyers and neocons? Bring it on!!
btw, which would be the evil faction?
