Perhaps someone can make a map creator for wesnoth? I know this is difficult, but it would be so much fun to be able to test different things, terrains, units etc. ourselves.

This is my idea :

Map Map Map Map Map Map Map Map Minimap Minimap Minimap

Map---------------------------------Map Things to be placed : e.g terrains,

and so on.

There is already a map creator (see editor :lol: ), about scenario and campaign editor, it is planned I think but that is much harder to do. (Not that hard but will need time to write dialog in order to edit the campaign and scenario... )

And you are already able to test what to do want. See wiki, cvs, debug mode ...
If you don't understand what I want to say, it may be quite normal, just ask me to reformulate. :p And your are welcome to correct my errors. :p

Where is an editor? I can't find it anywhere in the game. Someone please tell me.

It's not in the game itself. It's a separate program. Look for editor.exe. It's a map editor only. There is a scenario editor called CampGen. Just look in the Scenario & Campaign forum.

One thing though. How am I supposed to make my own map? When I tried there is this number 9 everywhere. Can someone please tell me? Thanks

Semi-related question: Is there a key somewhere that lists the definitions of the individual letters in a map file? :)

The files somewhere/wesnoth/data/terrain-graphics.cfg and somewhere/wesnoth/data/terrain-graphics/*.cfg may help you I think.

And what you are asking for is somewhere/wesnoth/data/terrain.cfg

A 9 like g meaning grass ? :lol:
Why ? because I guess that's the default...
