Upgraded Shocktrooper Graphic

Post by Sangel »

OK, I've been working on a graphic for an upgraded Shock Trooper, and it's almost finalised. But the question remains - should it remain in the same greys as the previous two levels, or should it have golden highlights to demonstrate its superiority? Opinions please.

Two of the three images are still holding hammer from the very end of the shaft.

Hmm, it's not really even the same grey, the heavy inf is darker, this one has a lighter, less jagged and more polished armor.
I vote the one with gold highlights, though.

It's a level 3 unit, I say we give him some love and go with the gold accents.

grey w/ gold accents, but can you make his arm armor a bit more spikey? right now it is too smooth to be a good upgrade of the shock trooper.

Here's a defensive stance holding the hammer a little higher up. I'm not too worried about the attack frame - with the hand held into the body and the hammer swinging, it doesn't look unnatural.

Unfortunately, I can't really see any more areas to add spikes to. In my mind, the helmet and spiky shoulders are sufficient to signal "Shock Trooper".

yes, you can tell it is a shocktrooper. the problem is that is does not mix as well with the current shock trooper graphic, i think. add spikes to the armor on the shins, and i think that would look good. right now the shin-armor is too smooth.

The images have improved a lot :-) but the attack image still needs more work, currently the guy could only hit enemies if they are holding their heads 3 inches away *grin* ,sorry bad pun, but it show my idea.

OK, here's a version where the hammer's a little bit further forward.

I think the images are really cool. I do think, however, the attack is a little static. Maybe try having him stepping forward with his right(our left) foot....

I'm playing around with it a little, but to be honest, the stance isn't particularly amenable to change in this particular case. The left leg should be shifted in which direction - right? Left? Neither looks that good when I play with it slightly.
