Dang, I remember your name.

It's gotten a lot quieter, that's for sure. I remember when the forums were super active...

That gets reset all the time, it only means 305 was the biggest number since August 3rd.
(I can't tell if you are joking or not; jokes & sarcasm are risky on the internet, and that's a mistake I've often made, so I'm not laughing at you.)

That said, I don't see that useful forum activity has fallen by all that much. A lot of activity has been spurred by a very few people, so one person can throw the stats off. Sometimes activity was spurred by code/art/music contributors, sometimes by newbies asking for help. The art/music contributor faction has died off, but it's understandable, as the bar has been set higher, and the licensing has been strange. As a board member (at least for now) of Wesnoth, Inc., I can say that we are trying to address the art/sound contribution problems. The rest of it though, the helping out newbies, the code contributions, that is up to the community, as it has always been. If you have enjoyed Wesnoth, but think it is fading, then step up and take the minimal effort to engage.

Been here since at least 2011/2012 and i have to say we've seen much worse times. I actually think it is getting much better at the moment.

That was not sarcasm. I look on this number in every forum I visit and I am always tracking the number in this forum too.
For example, at the current moment 86 users are online.
It not only means that 305 was the biggest number since August 3rd but also was the biggest number BEFORE August 3rd.
Since August 3rd 2016 was not so far ago (compared to 2010) I cant say that activity is dying. There are seasonal issues in such things also, so you cant compare March 2017 with summer 2016 because in summer people often have much more free time.

I hope so. I'd like to get back into the game but Real Life™ won't let me right now.

I am seeing the same thing...
But how is that even possible? The forums did not even exist during that time. Heck, I wasn't even born then...
