A little gaming clan that plays Wesnoth

Post by Aumpa »

Some friends of mine and I have been playing Wesnoth lately, and we're a gaming clan of sorts, so I think that makes us a Clan That Plays Battle for Wesnoth!

Seven of us are in the midst of our own little Wesnoth tournament to see who will be crowned Wesnoth champ of the clan. You can see the standings here:

Please feel free to stop by our IRC channel and play some practice games with us. Some of us are online quite often. Here's a direct link via Mibbit:
http://tinyurl.com/ftowesnoth (irc.newnet.net #wesnoth if you have your own client).

More about us:
The clan has its roots in text-based RPGs, but we've branched out to other games. We're not big spenders, so we usually go for casual, free, easy-to-acquire games. Sometimes we've played campaigns with tabletop RPG rules. We've played the occasional shooter. Some of us are into chess and go. We have no official membership list, but we have our own fake currency.

We go by "FTO", the acronym of a game that many of us played at one point. Since we are not active with that game any longer, the acronym is generally undefined, or may mean various random things. Fiddle Tango Orchestra, or Feasible Thunder Operators, or some such. You may have seen our games on the Official Server.

I hope to see you in channel.

I'm going to answer that question by counting a tabletop RPG played via IRC as a text-based RPG and say Dungeon World. The rules are available for free online.
