I know people will role their eyes but...

My favorite non-wesnoth unit is the Candela... because it gets so little recognition otherwise...

It's a minor character from Disney's Fantasia, if memory serves.

Candela is from Meridia, and is an upgrade to the Dwarf Miner, with a candle on his hat.

The Titan of Age of Mythology! Or even better, Osiris from the same game!

For Wesnoth UMC, I would probably take the Mystical Djinn from the Era of Magic, it has the great animations we all love Inferno 8 for, and its background...

Besides the Fire Dragon, my favorite Mainline units are the Silver Mage, Archmage and Great Mage.
After far too long an absence, I have returned.
According to the quiz 100% Silver Mage (85% Archmage, 75% Shyde, 67% Flameheart and Ancient Wose,58% Assassin, Troll Warrior and Berserker). And my top score is exactly how I see myself.
