where do you rate yourself as a Wesnoth player?
After an idea by Midnight_Carnival.
Where do you rate yourself as a Wesnoth player?
If I ever have more free time, I might start playing ladder games.
Where do you rate yourself as a Wesnoth player?
- horrible (Wes-what; what am I doing here?)
- very bad (Only finished both the tutorial scenarios.)
- bad (Practicing; unable to beat human players.)
- poor (Just won my first match... "Who wants to touch me?")
- under average (Win about 50% against newbies.)
- average (Usually beat the rookie players.)
- above average (Win about 50% against veterans.)
- good (Usually beat the experienced players.)
- very good (As good as, or better than, the top Competition Ladder players.)
- excellent (Basically, nothing but back-to-back flawless victories.)
If I ever have more free time, I might start playing ladder games.

I would rate myself
3b: bad (played through a few mainline campaigns, uninterested in playing against human opponents)

That seems to be geared towards human to human play, which I don't do as much of.
But I'd guess I'm at about a 6.5
I usually always slaughter newbies, but don't know that I go 50% against veterans (A curse on poorly defined terms!)

I think it would be easier to rank another person than myself, but... I'll say 5.3.

Most blokes are playing at ten, but I go up to eleven.
I am actually quite terrible at this game. I can't even win my own add-ons except for when they're brand new and nobody knows what they are.

Well, I dunno.. I'd give myself somewhere around 6, maybe a tad less, I guess. I usually beat the average newbie, but I get my ass handed over to me by most experienced players.

Re: where do you rate yourself as a Wesnoth player?
I'm presuming that you're referring mainly to MP games?
If so, I call myself approximately a 6.5. I'm certainly not incompetent, but I haven't played enough mp matches to grasp the more complex strategies and such. I'm more of a sp campaign kind of player.
Quite frankly, I haven't been playing Wesnoth that often lately... perhaps 3 times a week, on average. But I enjoy fiddling around with WML and creating art, so most of my Wesnoth-time is more about modding the game than actually playing it.

4.
I can beat the AI maybe three-quarters of the time, but I just can't beat other players with any level of reliablity. Maybe 4-5 victories since I started playing a couple of years ago. I observe alot of matches so I pick up alot of stuff and I sometimes sound like an experienced player when I'm talking, but I can never put what I've seen into practice.
I'm the halfway point between AI and human: Clever enough to do a decent job of each turn, not clever enough to link them together in any meaningful way.

...We need a 0 ranking.
I'm probably as good as shadowmaster, maybe a tad less.

I would say six, but i'm going with 5.5 because I was beaten as undead by a dwarf player who didn't know how the amount of visible hexes was determined or what the healthy trait was.
Re: where do you rate yourself as a Wesnoth player?
maybe 9.
I'm not sure how good I am, but I in a 3p survival, I was more tought than a Ladder player.
I frequently beat without any problems. The errors of my opponents compenses my bad luck in many games, so I win frequently (I had once an statistic of luck on -34%/+17% and I winned for thrashing).

In that case I'll say 28 even though my real number is a solid 3.norbert wrote:I'm voting 7 for myself, even though my playing sucks at times.
