I am going offline for a week, so just wanted to say that I appreciate all your reactions.
My friend was promised that he will really really have the surgery this September. (It seems to have a rational cause -- it is not good to do surgeries mid-summer, because in hot temperatures wounds heal worse.) So I hope now it is real, and it will be OK. In case of any more delay, I will give him all information you sent me. Thank you!
