Re: Where did you get your username from?
I had wondered what it was...Zarel wrote:My avatar, on the other hand, is a glider. Every once in a while, I get someone PMing/emailing me saying "Your avatar is backwards. The Hacker Emblem faces the other way" and I reply "That's because it's not the Emblem, it's a glider." Once, someone actually said "Your avatar is backwards. Gliders face the other way." That guy clearly had no idea what a glider is.

So, when do we do our avatars?
This'll be the bit where someone links me to a year-old thread and says "fool".

Re: Where did you get your username from?
I guess you can describe your avatar here, although for most, it's obvious. However, avatars change a LOT more often than usernames, so the post may look, eh, "weird."

Re: Where did you get your username from?
I don't know if you want to hear from someone who only has a handful of posts but I'll chip in anyway. My username comes from an ad that used to be on tv a few years ago for "waxwood" sleeper pines, a wax coated plank of wood! Boring I know, but the guy on the ad had a very large, white beard. Coupled with my love for beards this led to a username for all things on the internet! Huzzah!

Impossible due to the autopruning. And it's very unlikely that such a thread would be in Users' either.Araja wrote:This'll be the bit where someone links me to a year-old thread and says "fool".

Wesfreak was my username because after I joined the game and before I joined the forum I was practically addicted to wesnoth. My avatar is one of my favorite sprites that I actually created. (not from scratch though)

Jetrel was an obscure demon/angel in the book of enoch, which I picked since naming yourself after ridiculous/overpowered magic beings is all the rage for nerdy fantasy geeks.
So I guess I'm one rung up the nerd totem pole since it isn't some elf name I made up.

Honestly, I think conlangers should be higher up on the nerd totem pole than fanboys of obscure topics.

Because otherwise they and their draining weapon special would become a game-breaking artifact.
