Re: What is everyone's favorite movie at the moment?
Indeed and very intolerant aswell. Intolerant as in selfishThanatos wrote:Shibamage wrote: No, that's not it. It's saying that God is the only solution if you realise that you have a problem. ... , it's just saying that being a Christian makes it possible to be selfless.
You may not agree, but I never saw it as openly attacking non-Christians or insulting them as people.
I think with these totally arbitrary statements you actually make it worse.
Ken_Oh is absolutely right: That's really offensive.

It's not an offense on non-Christians as much as it is an attack on reason.
I don't want to get into an argument about this in a thread that's supposed to be about things we like. I'm just saying I think the message is bogus.

Re: What is everyone's favorite movie at the moment?
Let's try to keep this conversation in the range of movie-plot and not a conversation about religion. Religion always starts big trouble on every forum you go to.. I think that was kind of why there's none allowed in wesnoth.
xD, well it changed since the time I looked at it. It was supposed to be the one that lead to this exact forum. But now I think it's two?
Hum, yeah, oooookkkkaaayyy… I'd be tempted to say that some of the people on that particular forum are idiots, but that would be an insult to idiots…

Re: What is everyone's favorite movie at the moment?
Sorry about that, I didn't realise it was against the rules. (But it was off-topic anyway.) It's an important issue to me, and I wanted to reply, but I should have PMed them and not replied here.
I really don't see how that's selfish, but if you want to continue the argument, feel free to PM me.

I don't think that it's against the rules in an off-topic forum, but yeah, that could give you an idea to start a post about religion if that's what you feel you need to do.

Re: What is everyone's favorite movie at the moment?
I was simply making notes about the movie, as this is a movie thread. We've had religion/anti-religion threads before, so, feel free to make one (unless mods step in to say otherwise), but I'm not interested in any meta-discussion.
Re: What is everyone's favorite movie at the moment?
This should not be made into a religion thread, as that is nowhere near the original purpose. While I will not stop anyone from discussing it elsewhere, note that such threads are never actually discussions, and will most likely end in a lock anyways, so you can save yourselves time if you so wish.

No, I meant the religion topic closed. I wouldn't try to usurp your authority.

To move the topic along...
I'll say Silverado. I love a good western, and this one is head and shoulders above most of the stuff I watch.

And Shrek 2 is equally epic. Jennifer Saunders is awesome.

Matrix Trilogy (absolutely dripping with action and style).
LOTR series (books were awesome too).
Narnia was ok... Prince Caspian was the better of the two out (read the books too. they are good).
Flywheel was pretty good.
Never seen Fireproof, heard it was good.
Facing The Giants was very good.
I want to check out Equillibrium, though.(I cannot spell it, for the life of me).

Nah, you ain't a child in any way. I still consider Shrek 1 & 3 to be epic and extremely funny, so why not? XDThe1exile wrote:Whenever anyone asks me this question, I think really hard, but cannot deny the truth...

Madagascar makes a good opponent too... The first one, not the horrible sequel.
