Re: What is everyone's favorite movie at the moment?
One thing still confuses me about Inception... did Nolan choose Marion Cotillard (Mal) because she starred as Edith Piaf (the singer of "Je ne regrette rien") in La vie en rose?

That movie was DIRE. It was hilariously dire, but dire all the same.

Actually, It's not that bad IMHO, the Arachnids remind me of the Zerg...

As an aspiring communicologist, I have a great appreciation for Office Space.
It's spelled "definitely", not "definately". "Defiantly" is a different word entirely.

I agree about Robocop. Although it's not, in my opinion, a good movie, it's 'not bad' and I was fully entertained while watching it. Good satire of a possible outcomes of our society due to greed and privatization of too many things.
I'll take one moment to pump up my friend's forum the 'mediasaurs' since I am going to link to it below. We talk mostly about movies in the forum and keep as up to date as possible.
We're up in there talking about the robocop REMAKE directed by none other than Aronofsky, who is in my opinion, making the best major motion pictures currently.

Next up though, although I do not like the climax, I like everything else about Mads Mikkelson in Valhalla Rising, especially the way I had to think about it:
http://mediasaurs.com/FORUM/FORUM/FORUM ... .php?t=798
This movie is about a brutal reality check on human survival. The gore or violence isn't over done, in fact it sneaked up on me and sort of washed through me, almost like how when a predator catches its prey amongst a pack of other potential prey, the other animals just kind of continue with business as usual because they know the predator is busy eating. I'll just continue with business as usual because it's not me he's attacking.
They tried the Le Samourai approach, little use of words, maximum use of plot driven tension. I like how we are shown visions of the future and how the chapters kind of change pace and approach, much like a complex piece of progressive music could.
Warning, the climax is pretty stupid, they all kind of hallucinate or get high or something, and there is some rape, and I'm not sure what it all means, but then I can pick it up again. I can piece the movie together before and after, but I don't have an answer for what the climax is all about.

"She's the man" is such a funny film! I recommend it.
-"Oh, just great. He beeps me now with codes. One is, 'Bring me food.' Two is, 'I'm with a girl, bring us food.' Three is, 'I'm lost and I can't find food'."-

Those kinds of movies are really amusing though.

Probalby not strictly speaking a movie, but he cut scenes (is that what they're called, video clip things) from Final Fantasy.
...apparenly we can't go with it or something.

My favorite movie ATM would have to be Inception. Favorite movies of all time include Avatar, Stardust, Equilibrium, and The Fifth Element.
The most recent movie I saw was No Time For Sergeants with Andy Griffith. It was ridiculously awesome. Hard to beat that level of comedy.

Scott Pilgrim is fairly good. It's a little bit lacking in plot, and the ending is kinda meh, but it has Michael Cera doing his thing, and it's pretty funny, and the fight scenes are great. And I think it may hold the record for portraying video games as gamers see it, not as non gamers see it.

Oscar, the 1991 comedy. If you watch it, you will do this: At least, that's how I felt while and after watching it.
