Apart from the translation file, it's also posible to translate some entries of the wesnoth.desktop file, which is under icons/ directory. You can find two examples of translations already done, basque and catalan ones (in latest CVS).

I am interested in getting the messages part of the Mac Campaign Editor sorted. One of the requests I've had is to add translations to messages in the editor. This would be very simple to do, but I don't know how translations are implemented at a user campaign level (vs main game translations)....

Currently it seems to me that there is no way to see if some strings have changed in the english files and need additional attention from the translators.

I don't know who made the dutch translation but it is not done and it has several errors in it, I can't play wesnoth in dutch because it is to irritating. I recommended wesnoth to a friend and after he played it in dutch he started to correct the translation file. I will post it when it is done....

A new sample_translation.cfg file has been commited to the CVS. It contains the strings for the orcish campaign, strings for the recently-introduced units, and strings that were missing from the previous version, due to a (now fixed) bug.
