We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay . While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...
There have been numerous important forum posts and wiki articles written by users and developers. We reference these pages a lot, and decided to put them together in a convenient list.
Write clearly, be nice to others, and be very careful when posting anything related to politics or religion. When asking for help, remember that everyone here is a volunteer. Prefer editing your previous post over double posting. No animated avatars or graphical signatures. Don’t plagiarize other’s...
well. ive got kinda tired of wesnoth. this year, ive played only about 5 mp games (and not playing often anymore payed back - i lost most of them). maybe ill come back one day. i got even tired of my own faction before completing it.
anyway, here should be most of the stuff i made. feel free to...
Well, I already mentioned this in the thread about the campaign itself, but there was nobody who wanted to do the job. So I'm asking here again: Could anybody please make some good-quality graphics for Troy and the other things I mentioned in the thread? I would do them myself, but I'm no graphics...
I've begun redoing the tcoloring the Marauder faction (from the Imperial Era) graphics. I've started with the most fun of these units - the Marauder Fay tree. :D
Here's what I have at this point. New graphics are directly to the right of the images they replace. So far I've only done the level one...
I just discovered, that the semi-automatic posting to the graphic library on the wiki , wasn't so semi-automatic after all. To make it easy sorting the images, you just needed to click one of two links, to either keep an image link (and add to the forum poster's page in the wiki), or discard it. (...
Hey, sorry if this is in the wrong section, but this is where I'd posted my previous thread so I figured it was alright. Move it if need be.
A while back, I posted some edited sprites in a thread ( here ). The other day I was googling for something with my handle, and a contrib page for user:Flak...
We're usually far too self-critical to ever get as far as sharing anything we create or edit, but we've been doing some changes to unit sprites in the game since we downloaded gimp a few days back, and figured we just as well could share a character we're quite satisfied with ourself.
Hi there... real life is [censored] at me, but I'll be back. :o Besides, who says I've been idle all this time? ;)
Animating is my thing, but let me share this embarrassing experiment with you, as I tried my hand at drawing and painting a portrait for the second time.
Right now, I am just getting a bunch of magenta in my sprites, rather than a color that changes based on the team color. And magenta kinda sucks. Even when I use my editor to save an image that previously had the changing team color, it becomes straight magenta.
Ive been working on shading and im not sure about this particular case. If it is an orb (shiny) being hit by light from a particular direction, should I have or not have the bright highlight around the edge of the orb. It seems to me that the our eyes would interpret there to be light around the...
Okay, it's not really a tribute to good ol' danny. I want to practice spriting, I also want to practice programming. So what I'm going to do is to sprite a couple of sprites a week and make stats for them (maybe) until I'm satisfied with my spriting skills.
I say vaguely because, while this guy is intended to go in a mainly steampunk-oriented set of units, it's not quite typical steampunk tech. This guy would probably be an upper-level unit; its lower-level counterpart would need a much more primitive, rickety-looking plane.
Here is some of the art for a unit I like to call Mage of the Abyss. The unit is not finished, but I wanted to post the art anyway. Zookeeper was helping me with a special ability for this unit that involved the ability to recruit demons if this unit existed on your side. I imagine it as an upgrade...
Ive always thought that sprite animating would be something to get into so I decided to start with wesnoth which a favorite game of mine. This is after I messed around a bit and is basically a skin-job with the added banner.
The Svartdvergar, commonly known as Trworfs, are a melding of the Troll and Dwarf races. They make their home on Mount Muspelheim, an active volcano located southwest of Wesnoth.
The Svartvergar came to be when a band of dwarves seeking new veins of metals happened upon Mount Muspelheim. Then,...
This is my first ever try to do anything in the way of computer graphics. Is it bad form to nick bits from other units? I wanted to make a non-military townsperson type unit. He looks like he could be a street brawler or something...
A little something that could spruce up some Dwarf mine scenario: minecar tracks. Obviously, they'll need other directions to be useful, but I'll post the first piece now in case anyone has adjustments to reccomend.
This isn't directly game-related, but I can't attach images in OT.
Recently I've been teaching myself to draw. This particular sketch is an experiment in drawing a face without using any kind of visual reference (just the mathematical guides - eyes at the vertical halfway point, etc).
Here are some graphics I made for the attack icons for my WW1 Era, Storm of Steel. Like the units, they're done in vector, except for the background that was made with Gimp, I tried to keep the feeling of wesnoth's icon in general except that I added a colored background to get...
I was just playing SoF and got an idea for story art for Outriding the Outriders . I might get around to try some of the other scenarios as well.
Here's the first sketch. I'm prettty happy with the horses (then again, they are just grid-copied from photographs), but I probably need to work on the...
This thread will probably die soon, sorry
I have been playing with the corrupted soul for a while now...
I cannot find the original file, I seemed to have lost it, sorry
posting my original , comparison with other ghosts
also adding the new, two armed sword
here's a portrait of an enchantress I've been working on. wanna see what u guys think of it.... if any one wants to see the original from whence (hehe i said whence) ':D) this came... just ask. a lot of work has been done on this over the last three days to get it right.... ENJOY!!!!!
I'm trying to learn the ropes of sprite art, and studying the mainline sprites, I've noticed there isn't much in the way of anti-aliasing in them. Since the engine supports full alpha channel, it must be a stylistic feature.
As aliased, the sprites have sharp edges, which make them stand out...
