As part of my unending quest to keep the HP/XP bars from unneccesarily obscuring the unit graphics, i make this proposal.

Since most units don't come near the limits of their hex, a Unit WML tag (something like image offset ) could be created to allow some units a custom offset.

The current info bar suffers from a lack of information hierarchy. I don't know if a multi-platform/language game has the capacity to reliably tweak the leading (distance between lines of text) so i didn't mess with that much.

hello
i was just making some maps and found that theres no alternative to the cave terrain when your underground. so i thought someone who can do pixel art could make a sort of more clean cut under ground hall sort of terrain that better suits the dwarfs.

I've been reading the tutorial here:
The backgrounds are helpful, but...
Ayin talks about an Exploder Tool that apparently makes the work of castle-building much easier. Since there are a lot more castles in this game since last i checked, i can only assume people have been some sort of tool....

The female version of the elvish archer units, is easy to confuse with the male, (if your not looking too hard). Because of this, the female archers get annoyed and sometimes die too quickly just to spite me.

I strongly believe the fem version should be readily recognisable as the same unit, but...

Here is a proposal for a new unit. He was formerly known as 'Goblin Standard Bearer' which turned out to be far too long for the in-game label spaces. I think this is as good a name if not better. Attached are the .cfg file and graphics.

Ideally I would like to create at least one more iteration...

I found an old portrait made by Jason Lutes in the Graphics library. This is the best Konrad portrait I've ever seen. I'd like to know why wasn't it added to the main game? And just out of curiosity, could it be added to the game now?

I started messing around with a paved road tile, but I'm not really sure what direction to take it in.

As square cobblestones might look a bit funny in a hexagonal world I just went for a take a bunch of flat-ish rocks and butt them up together kind of road.

It seems cave wall are seeing increasing use in maps for impassable terrain. Obviously cave wall wasn't intended to be used like this and it has several shortcomings. It doesn't look very good when used for anything but caves and it has some transitional problems as well.

I've gone and made a gimp script to save terrain corner transitions from a single file. It duplicates and crops your image to the sizes that work best for Wesnoth. You can choose whether you're saving a concave or covex corner, and which direction (ne, e, se, sw, w, nw), and it'll resize and name...

I'm making transitions for an interior terrain using the cavewall graphics. I have run into a problem.

The cavewall naming using 'convex' and 'concave' as well as the -e and -w (east and west) suffixes. The terrain tutorial does not mention these.

It's bugged me that the cave walls were not the same color as the floor. I started out to fix the color and ended up doing more. Notice the cave passages are wider now.

I'm experimenting with a new way to draw the forest. Instead of having a spesific bg for each forest tile, I only draw the trees with alpha shadows and overlay it on any suitable tile. This could probably be done for other things also.

This will make the tiles more versatile as they can be...
