Re: Classical monster units
Yes, I'm aware the stats probably need adjustment. And I probably should have posted the stats for the higher-level ones right up. I delberately made the attack weak, but gave it certain compensating abillities, like the stealth factor, speed, and high health points. If it's a copy of an existing un...

Classical monster units
Wesnoth of course contains many fasciating creatures, but after reading through the list of units in the newest version, I've noticed that two of my favorite classic monsters from fantasy and mythology are absent, one of which (and perhaps both) could, I feel, be valuable aditions to the game. I'm t...

Re: New unit?
I had an idea sort of like this, but nothing so extreem. I have to say, this unit seems rather unballanced. It would start our easilly killable, true, but it would upgrade so fast (if it survived), that it would soon become nigh invincible. This just seems a rather unballaced concept. Note I'm not s...

Re: New faction: Order of defenders.
Thanks, I'll look it over. Hopefully, I can someday post more on this idea once I have something more substantial to show.

Need help with "Northern Winter"
This is, I believe, the level in the Heir to the Throne Campaign right after you escape across the fords. I've played this level three times now, and I can't beat it. I tried using cavalry to quickly take the nearer of the two orc castles first, and using it as a base from which to attack the second...

Re: New faction: Order of defenders.
Sorry. I never use spearmen myself. I prefer a mix of mages/bowmen and cavalry. Plus lots of healers.

Re: New faction: Order of defenders.
Sorry it took me so long to respond, I've been without computer access for a week. Okay, I'm sorry if I didn't provide enough information to go on. I said from the beginning that this was a very rough and undeveloped idea, and I was basically asking whether the concept was worth developing. By the w...

New faction: Order of defenders.
Here's an idea that I've had for a while now, and which I'd like to put in to practice if day-to-day life ever gives me the time. It's a new faction based on the idea of an order of Peacekeepers holding allegiance to no one crown, but dedicated to fighting evil in any form, along the lines of the Kn...

Cause of Apocalypse? [spoilers!]
After trying (and failing ) to beat the post-apocalyptic campaign involving the elves in the dessert(Under the Burning Suns?), I have the following question: has it ever been explained in any campaign what caused this disaster that left the world barren?

Spoilers: how does Heir To The Throne end?
Does Konrad kill Ashvier in the Heir To The Throne campaine? Of course she's completly evil, but I'd still find it creepy if he killed his own aunt(like how Star Wars would suck if Luke killed his father).

tech in fantasy settings
I'm wondering why there often seems to be technological stagnation in fantasy settings, and weather this is the case in Wesnoth. My personal explanation would be that magic eliminates the need for certain technologies, ie, mages in Wesnoth eliminate the need to develop guns and artilary, and healers...
