Re: wmllint tutorial
I manually stopped it during the loop... the campaign now starts (I can play the first scenario), but my custom units refuse to show up unknown unit type: "Dragon Rider" and so on Should I just run wmllint again, with --nospellcheck, and hope it is fixed? I had the same problem while I was...

Re: wmllint tutorial
omg, how long is it supposed to take?
I installed the enchant library to allow spellchecking, and after I entered the lines and pressed enter the machine went on to growl for half an hour or so. I had to terminate it manually, because I wanted to sleep.
i'll try again, though

Re: Last Exile
shoot, I knew there was something wrong with the yielding stuff. Thanks, I appreciate that. OK, I start making a list of borrowed sprites and start pm-ing their respective creators. Thanks again for the suggestion. AI was not so developed back in 1.4... I really got to get myself up-to-date... I got...

Re: Last Exile
my bad I know about the $variable thing. how can I access a unit's variables (e.g. hitpoints, coordinates)? I guess that would solve the problem. Is it something like $Enemy.variables.hitpoints? As for the avoid thing, I originally tried with [avoid] [filter] id=Enemy [/filter] radius=7 [/avoid] in ...

Re: wmllint tutorial
no, I meant safer in terms of efficiency, because of the win-specific bugs reported before. Thanks, though, I'll try it ASAP

Re: Last Exile
First serious setback with coding: I'm trying to make my allies avoid an enemy unit. I understand the [avoid] tag is for terrain (eg avoid x, y=14, 9). Any ideas? I tried linking the coordinates of the Enemy to those to be avoided: like [event] name=moveto first_time_only=no [filter] id=Enemy [/filt...

wmllint tutorial
Hello everybody wmllint is one of the best tools that come with wesnoth. It's a no-brainer to edit your campaign with this, instead of re-writing again manually in order to make it compatible with the new version. Now, not all of us (including me) have any kind of experience with Python, or Lua or C...

Re: Fate of a Princess
Hi there. I didn't play all of the campaign, but I comprehensively studied all WML files (yes, I'm a geek type of guy), and I really liked it. Nice dialog - except for some slight mistakes, which didn't bother me, since I'm not a native speaker myself. Nice overpowered units (there was no way Jil co...

Re: Where did you get your username from?
I read lots of Asterix comics when I was younger (I still do...). "Galica" is the word for the sandal the roman soldiers wore, "galicae" is the plural. I liked it a lot, though I don't know why. I found out nice names come out of randomly typing on the keyboard. My username would...

Re: Need help in uploading a campaign
After some tinkering, (using the following .bat file) I got to this result: C:\Documents and Settings\παιδιά\Desktop>C:\Python26\python.exe C:\Program_Files \Battle_for_Wesnoth_1.6.5\data\tools\wmllint --dryrun C:\Program_Files\Battle_fo r_Wesnoth_1.6.5\data\core C:\Program_Files\Battle_for_Wesnoth_...

Re: Need help in uploading a campaign
Hi, it's me again. Upon trying to transcribe my campaign for the 1.6 version, I stumbled on actually using wmllint. I have downloaded and installed python (I'm on Windows), and tried to figure out some things using the tutorial, but it proved way too complicated (and long). So, I'm again asking for ...

about the map files, well this explains some things. But since I don't have Internet on my computer, I could only hack mainline campaigns
