Re: Download count being an implicit ranking system
May I ask why they should not be in competition? It's the same reason there is no persistent stats or leaderboard in multiplayer. Competition fosters hostility. People will take it way too seriously, get obsessed with being in "first place" and start getting angry at each other. It is not...

Re: Download count being an implicit ranking system

Assuming that the user's internet connection is cheap, you still waste the time of the user testing the addon. It is important for the health of the project that the addon with the most downloads is at...

Re: How Do You Edit Downloaded Add-Ons?
If I recall correctly, during installation the game should have asked if you wanted to store your userdata in My Games or in Program Files.

Re: Download count being an implicit ranking system
And ...?because of it, the add-ons with more downloads are more likely to get more downloads
This is my point. You decided that that matters and that it's apparently important to be in "first place".

Re: Download count being an implicit ranking system
But the download count is an add-on ranking system No it's not. You decided that it was going to be a meaningful metric for the success of your add-on, and now you're so upset that you're not in "first place" that you're on the forums flinging accusations and vitriol at a fellow Wesnoth m...

Re: Download count being an implicit ranking system
Ironically, this thread is pretty much the perfect example of why there should never be an add-on rating system.

So you've created a thread for spamming contextless youtube links and inappropriate memes? Nope. Not even in off-topic.

Re: Is anyone working on a campaign based on Game of Thrones
Not intending to argue, (I understand that this is a touchy subject, and I'll drop it after this) but I found the thread for the Star Wars TC I had mentioned, and there Gambit doesn't seem to disapprove of "discussing such things"- though of course distribution through wesnoth.org is an o...

Re: GambCiv • A civ-like Wesnoth add-on
Not really. I don't hang around the Wesnoth lobby these days. I am generally on IRC on weekends and in the evenings (EST) on weekdays though if you want to set up a game that way.

I haven't done it yet, but apparently it works if you don't stare directly at the paradox.Drakefriend wrote: When was that? Can you give a link?

Re: [Announcement] shadowmaster is banned
i dont understand, why OP in this thread are always on bottom post? and why the heck your rank became banned from the future, is that even possible? are we get trolled or what? :hmm: It's quite simple. That post is from the future. You see, later this year, I plan to convince shadowmaster to travel...
