Re: HttT Text & Dialogue
Scenarios 0-5b are up; S3-S5b here. After Elesnsefar I'll swing back through and release a zip with the first major edit. Keep the feedback coming.

Re: [mainline] 2x new Trait ideas. I can't resist. BUT:
This reminds me of a quote from the villain of the movie The Incredibles: "Because when everyone's super, no one will be." Hah! I had the same thought during a devil's advocate mental cycle. Funny! Not having something doesn't automatically mean it is needed. Well, I agree, of course. Yet...

Re: [mainline] 2x new Trait ideas. I can't resist. BUT:
Heh. I think the misunderstanding may be on your end, Mr. Vodot... Well, yes. I'm open to that possibility. Explain? the effect on the units playability could be quite severe... net damage isn't always the most important thing... In the end, it will even out... I can't predict what the outcome woul...

Re: [Engine] 2x new Trait ideas. I can't resist. BUT:
I don't really see the point in 'courageous A unit that is both Neutral and forces all attacking enemies to be Neutral? It doesn’t make sense that a unit’s attacker should be unaffected by ToD only because the unit itself is. Well, first, does it have to? And second, if a unit's ToD bonus represent...

Re: Post your favorite boardgame!
I play a fair amount of an IRC version of Werewolf , and it's surprisingly possible to read people even though it's just text. I'd still like to try it IRL, though; I imagine it would be quite different. Ah, simultaneously my most and least favorite party game. I have a love/hate relationship with ...

[mainline] 2x new Trait ideas. I can't resist. BUT:
I am aware of the fact that the unholy thread-locker perpetually looms over threads such as these. To cite FPI #25: ( emphasis mine ) ... Suggestions for new traits are welcome , but it is noted that unless they are very simple, they are unlikely to make it. I'm sorry; but I have to get them out of ...

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue
After this weekend, I could help with this if you want. Maybe we could split it between us. If you want to take me up on my offer, just send me some of the dialogue. Well, first: help is always appreciated. Second, have you read the scenarios I've posted so far? I'd really appreciate comments on th...

Re: Post your favorite boardgame!
Anybody else like Dixit?
Some other favorites I didn't see here:
Descent: Journeys in the Dark?
Agricola?
Powergrid?
Pandemic?
MtG?
Werewolf/Mafia? ok... not a 'board game'
And finally, dare I say: Axis and Allies?
EDIT: Oh, and: Shameless Plug!

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue
Seimus joining the player would be a balance issue. He's a great mage, correct? That's a pretty powerful unit, especially if he was loyal. Maybe he should say something like "Nay, I have to stay here and help build this academy anew. Farewell, my friends."?) O.o I got him confused with th...

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue
Well, the thing is that fully fleshed-out stories can still be delivered in different ways. For example, all the details about Eldred don't need to be in the intro; the intro could remain as succinct and to-the-point as it is now and all the little flavourful details could be delivered by having De...

Scenarios 3-5 [RE: HttT Text & Dialogue]
Bah, 5-attachment limit. I was hoping to have these all in the same post but I'll have to make reviewers sift through the thread a little. If it gets crazy I'll need to move to a different storage location. Any tips? Scenario 3: Scenario 4: Scenario 5a: Scenario 5b: All storage moved to dropbox. Se...

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue
Ok, there seems to be a lot of good stuff in there, but there's one problem: there's a lot of it. The HttT intro is already a long one, but yours looks like it has about doubled the number of words. Alas, more than doubled. It is much too long- I just committed my text into my local copy and ran th...

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue
There is still a bunch of typos. It should be "seized", "suddenly", "insinuations"... Yeah... working with a simple text editor is forcing me to actually try and type properly. These need to be run through a spell checker. The main question I never understood storywise...

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue
Glad you liked it, & thanks for the feedback! They mention that winter is coming up fast. Metaphor :) Perhaps i need to make this more clear. I think Konrad lusting to fight, kill, and have such hatred for orcs doesn't work. Since Delfador has raised him, I assume the wise old mage would teach h...
